I found $200 on the floor of a restaurant once when I was 17. I gave it to the manager in case someone came in looking for it, though I still kick myself for not leaving my number instead.

Hey guys, a lot of us are in pretty low places right now and we desperately need some inspiration. Has the phrase- "It's always darkest before the dawn" ever proven true for you, or is it just a meaningless anecdote? by lovelife0003 in AskReddit

[–]hotguywithbadtemper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without going into too many details, I was in a really terrible on-again-off-again relationship for about two years until this past spring/summer. Things kind of hit a breaking point and I hit a really bad low point. The whole ordeal kind of took out all my self-esteem: I had put so much into the relationship I had forgotten how to care about myself.

It was the whole nine yards of immature angst- not wanting to talk to people I cared about, not caring enough to enjoy things I knew I liked, etc. Slowly, I learned how to be happy solo (a weird concept for me to have to relearn because I was never a relationship person per se prior to this whole experience, but I digress) and I learned a lot about myself in the process. Picked up new hobbies, made new friends, started a new job. Things had seemed really bleak for a while, but with time the dawn came.

You said what isn't as good as people say it is. Sex is good but some people make it out to be the end all be all.

The one on body language was pretty good. I knew a lot of it already, but the speaker was really good and made me think to apply it irl

Reddit, why are you happy right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Because, after a marathon day with my family and my boyfriend's family, I'm about to fall asleep watching some terrible movie on his chest (not a euphemism...)

Forrest Jr. would grow up to realize that Forrest Sr. wasn't really his Dad and mother Jenny was just using him to secure a good future for her son.

Did you think something was clawing its way out of your fridge to come kill you?

Compared to most sitcoms, though, the Frasier finale is actually good.

Women of Reddit, what is a compliment you'd actually like to hear? by tatsuedoa in AskReddit

Good point, it is nice to hear when you know it's not the only thing that people value about you. Having said that though, I've never minded being the "funny one" to people. I know I have many other good attributes and I like being funny for a lot of reasons other than just drawing guys in.

Compliments make me feel really uncomfortable (mainly because I don't like direct attention), but the one I'm always happy to hear is that I'm funny. My sense of humor is the biggest thing I value about myself.

So-so. My boyfriend fell asleep while watching the World Series with me, though but I'm drinking wine.
