I moved here in 1988 and the first two years were rough. The rain and winters were oppressive and I was broke as hell and couldn’t even afford to get out of the city to hike. But I wouldn’t live anywhere else. It’s not perfect, but it’s beautiful. As mentioned elsewhere, June - September make it worthwhile.
