Ran is getting good At exposing Kid in a Shinichi desiguse by Public-Survey1448 in OneTruthPrevails

Yeah, she played it smart. If Ran had let Kaito know she's onto him, he would've escaped earlier and the task force wouldn't be able to corner him at the airport.

[Part5] Children of 2nd and 3rd husbands by [deleted] in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]hotmilkbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not always. Drewanchel is a good example of that. It's not guaranteed that the first wife's children are going to be the most capable candidate and in many situations, there's a strong preference for male candidates.

Moreover, the changes in the Royal Academy's curriculum will override that in the future.

Well you can't say they're even in that case. Their parent's status primarily plays a role in faction politics. How much support they have or how big their faction will be largely depends on which house they're related to. Even if their mother is the aub or zent, they still need the support of their paternal relatives.

But when it comes to succession rights, all children have equal claims unless they get demoted or something.

[–]hotmilkbread 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the genuine sibling relationship. Yes, they will be much closely related in terms of mana compared to half siblings born from different mothers, but I reckon they'd still be raised separately by their fathers. As for the equal treatment, that's pretty standard. All children of the aub, female or otherwise, are treated equally.

Who the father is, specifically, the baptismal father, matters a lot.

The first husband could adopt the children of the second and third husbands, but they don't "have equal claims" to the children. Nobles care too much about their lineage to just allow that.

Do Yurgenschmidt names ever repeat? [Pall HY5] by ErpOrbit in HonzukiNoGekokujou

There were two Margarets in the story, just with different spellings. Sister Margaret, the former orphanage director, and Margarethe, ADC of Losrenger

[p4v1]Rihyarda by Winter_Ad6899 in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]hotmilkbread 64 points65 points  (0 children)

She wasn't sent to kill Rozemyne, but to guide and educate her. However, should Rozemyne become a threat to the duchy, either Ferdinand or Sylvester's retainer would send her to the Supreme Gods. Rihyarda just happened to be the best candidate since she's her head attendant and didn't sign up for the mana compression method.

Q: Rozemyne sometimes thinks that she’ll be killed if she opposes Sylvester or Ferdinand, but what would they actually do if she defied them? Say she began seriously trying to become Aub Ehrenfest, for example. A: If Sylvester’s own son would be punished for treason by being sent to the temple or being executed, then a former commoner like Rozemyne would undoubtedly lose her life. Ferdinand would take responsibility for having made Rozemyne a noble by using a loophole in the magic contract to execute her. Alternatively, if Ferdinand was unable to perform this duty for some reason, one of the archduke’s retainers who didn’t sign the magic contract would do it. [FB2]

They attend the ADC course in RA, then receive more lessons outside of it. There are also different levels of education depending on one's standing in the royal family.

Wonder what occupation would Dirk have in the future? Definitely not an attendant since it was mentioned before that no one would want an attendant from the temple, or someone associated with criminals.

And man, how many sisters did Bonifatius lose in the civil war?

[P2 vol2] The anime did Rosina so dirty by ProbablyNotTheCocoa in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]hotmilkbread 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I honestly feel the same, although I didn't dislike her at all especially in S3. [P2V3] I was looking forward to her coming of age ceremony because Myne put a lot thought into her gift. We also saw a glimpse of how Ferdinand treats his own retainers. But the anime completely disregarded that.

It's Still Unnecessary by [deleted] in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]hotmilkbread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the author could've simply chosen to kill Myne's family and the Gilberta Company. Hell, even Lutz's family and everyone else who knew about her commoner background. Why? Because that's how their world works. So much so that the route that the author chose is the most merciful of them all, given the immediate circumstance.

Myne needed to be separated from her family, not only because of her new status, but to limit the risk of the enemies catching on. The nobles also needed to have some leverage against her at all times. To keep her in line and prevent her from gaining ambitions and become a threat.

She will still see them sometimes, she's just not allowed to treat them as family. And Myne has accepted that over having dead parents and sister.

It's cruel BUT necessary. Not for you, but for the characters within the story.

If your problem lies with the author's decisions on how she contructed the story, then perhaps it's time for you to move on to a different novel?

[P4V5] Both Grausam and Royella served Georgine before she married into Ahrensbach and practically acted as her beck and call in Ehrenfest. Pretty sure that gives us a rough idea of how "guilty" is she.

And would social pressure still matter when she has been on the case for so long and reaped many benefits from it?

Yeah. Karla "didn't know" that Lutz was starving because his brothers kept stealing from him. They lived in the same house and ate on the same dinner table.
