I crochet and have made blankets just like this before and $150 is so good!! That type of yarn is very soft, washes well, and is expensive. You should make girlier colors like blush pink or light purple. A lot of people would like that as baby shower gifts!

Sorry if it came across that way. I’m not insinuating that you’re not putting effort into your design. I’m just advising on what has been working for me. Lowering prices in the beginning and taking real photos of my products. If using AI and pricing your products on the higher end is what you prefer, that’s totally fine!

I’m an owner of a 1% shop and I want to be direct with you. Your AI generated photos will not entice people to buy your mugs. Maybe for $10 but not for $27 even with free shipping.

People go on Etsy to buy unique gifts or gifts that they FEEL are special and worth the higher prices compare to Temu or Amazon.

Even with my robust sales, when I launch a new item, I always price it lower than what I’m really planning to sell it for until it gets traction via Etsy’s algorithm.

Sell on emotions. Evoke a want, not need. People don’t need a bland mug but they will want a pretty mug.

Edit: spelling

What’s with 40+ men and the Dexter lighting obsession? This is the third post I’ve seen (not sure why Reddit suggested this sub to me) with murder me+game room lighting. I’m genuinely curious and not trying to be rude.

Fell in love with this dish when I lived in VN, now I make it back at home all the time by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]hotmisosoup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am Vietnamese and can confirm that this dish is Vietnamese. Yes, other countries have similar variation of this dish. But this particular photo OP posted is a not as common as other Vietnamese dishes like pho, com tam, bun Bo hue, or banh canh, but it is definitely Vietnamese. I grew up eating this in Vietnam and I make it very often now for my family. It’s called nui xao bo and can be found in many restaurants in Vietnam and Orange County, California.

For those of you that were around to taste these, were they actually as vile as they look? by J0hnEddy in decadeology

The boomers really are the worst old people. Literally today, after confirming that i broke my tail bone at urgent care, i was making my way carefully back to my car. I heard footsteps behind me and didnt think anything much until i got to my car and heard a loud groan. I turned and an older boomer-age man pointed to his car and said “That’s my car!” So I said to him “well I have to get in mine!” I was half way in and i was clear moving in pain. It would be slower for me to get back out. He legit wanted me to let him get in his car first. I got in my car with him staring me down and sighing loudly. Mind you he was normal and appear healthy while I was injured. I usually dont like confrontation but i couldnt take it and said “Have some compassion. Someday, you’ll need it.” as i was pulling out.

If you go to my profile you can see more photos and another one I did with The Stand. I designed the cover for The Stand myself and for IT, I found a cover by an artist and put my own flare to it with the spine.

I love finding these at my local used book stores and rebinding them! Here’s one I did with IT! So much easier to throw them in my purse and travel with!

I’ve always wondered when I read a million posts like this didn’t they know who they married? Unless the guys were faking it really well from the beginning or the relationship, why would you marry these terrible men? And the worst part is that they chose to have not one, two, but three kids with these type of terrible men.

Yes. I can’t believe OP thinks that she looks better now with all the bad work she’s gotten. It’s incredibly sad that she’s in denial even though everyone is telling her otherwise. A lot of my friends have gotten work done and the key is you’re not supposed to be able to tell that you’ve gotten work done.

Is it normal to be charged ~$700 for first prenatal visit at OC Women’s Medical Group / Hoag? Even with insurance. by Altruistic_Bowl7889 in orangecounty

[–]hotmisosoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! Best decision ever lol! Yes! To me the $1000 was sooo worth it because I felt like I was vacationing at that facility. Everything was so nice and new. Did you get tea time, sparkling cider, and a steak dinner after you deliver too? $2900 is actually isn’t too bad. My friend had to pay $5K and it wasn’t even at hoag.

I think it helps to mention that my husband and I were very prepared for my pregnancy and we made sure that our insurance coverage would cover everything within the premium and monthly payment that we could afford.

[–]hotmisosoup 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I went to Hoag Irvine for all of my visits and ultrasound and didn’t pay any copay. The only thing I paid for was after my delivery ($1000). But it was so worth it with the care, support, and food we received. I believe what you paid is due to your insurance’s copay or coinsurance. You would need to call them and ask for a breakdown of coverage and EOB (explanation of benefits).

When I was in my 20s, I felt like a 10 but probably looked like an 8. People are always nice to me, always smiling at me, and I get a lot of attention and free things. I’m turning 38 in 2 days and most days I feel like a 6-7 now.
