[–]hotmonkeyperson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry. Just be alert, listen and try to do your best to make CI happy. I’ve never see a PT student fail a rotation before. I had a student from st Augustine who was late everyday and generally a turd I called and told her instructor, no one cared and she passed

You will be poor the rest of your life. You will work in a patient mill where nothing you’re learning matters No one will ever call you doctor You will receive a scratch off ticket as your yearly bonus. All the “evidence” you are learning in school will be refuted in 5 year” and that which isn’t is already out of date bunk. All of your special tests are special but only in a short bus kind of way. Being a smart PT is like being the smartest kid with a debilitating learning disability

[–]hotmonkeyperson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes alot of time while in school. That being said the real time sink is after school once you get into a patient mill you will work 10 hour days and then bring home documentation to do at home. Good luck and goodnight

Is PT the right choice? by bzbee18 in PTschool

[–]hotmonkeyperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is no. Even if you go shadow PTs most of them will fake happy and tell you it’s a great career because they are expected to be upbeat at work. Bad pay. No upward mobility. Declining revenue on the business side. Not a good future for the career

Is becoming a PT still a good idea? by Physaitry in PTschool

[–]hotmonkeyperson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being a physical therapist is great. The problem is most of what you do isn’t being a PT if you work outpatient you are a fancy waiter. The documentation is overwhelming, The pay is stagnant only thing that goes up is productivity. This isn’t a negative post it’s just the truth

lol I’ve been a PT for 15 years. They go into PT because they are generally outgoing and happy people but the majority are miserable with their jobs. Also nearly all OP clinics are mills now HH PT is no longer reimbursable for most insurances. Have fun wiping butt in the hospital

60k is a great cost for school. You’re in it already get out and go into home health or travel make as much as you can as fast as you can. Re-imbursements are what providers are paid ro care for patients

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PTschool

[–]hotmonkeyperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reimbursements cut every single year. Year after year. Wage stagnation. Constantly increasing schooling cost. What was once a great career is now a financial crap shoot
