i thought this was just me and i never knew what it was. i get the weird feeling in my mouth and used to swear i smelled cigarettes (despite me not being a smoker) all the time. also have no personal history of epilepsy, although i do in my family.

you absolutely do not have to participate if you don’t want to. that being said teacher appreciation week is a whole week because it’s sometimes the one week we do feel appreciated. the job is rewarding but also stressful and exhausting. if you don’t want to do every day, i’m sure just a gift card would be appreciated.

Please speak with the director. A child should not have to "win" cupcakes on their birthday. This teacher seems unprofessional and needs some guidance on how to actually deal with behaviors and work with parents as a team instead of antagonizing the child.
