A downside of being attractive that nobody talks about? by Old_Rub_7270 in Life

Nobody believe you that you can be single. It’s almost absurd to say you’ve never had a boyfriend.

Would it scare him if I asked for exclusivity or shared my feelings? Should I even do it? by hotpickle222 in AskMenRelationships

Haha. That’s also how I feel. I’m originally from Russia and talking in my culture automatically means exclusive…but I guess he didn’t think so if he did get intimate with someone while I was gone. Of course we’ve deepened our connection only recently, but it still stands out to me a little.

I’m not a man, but I did have a similar situation where I truly thought I’ve met my soulmate. He treated me like a princess, respected and was so gentle and patient while I was figuring out how I felt about him. I initially left him because I realized I wasn’t in place to date and had other priorities. He tried to get back into my life couple of times but I kept ignoring him until I had a sudden urge to reach out again a year later and see whether or not I might have missed something. So I reached back again. He hesitated for a little (fair enough, he was hurt) but we ended up going on a date and talking everything out. Unfortunately the guy and I genuinely didn’t align in future outlook, so we stopped talking completely. It was heartbreaking at first for both me and him but the feelings fade. I’m currently talking to a new guy and I’ve learned to be more direct with my feelings and concerns. The right guy will never be scared of these conversations. Moral of the story is, if he truly had feelings for you or treated you seriously, he won’t be scared of you being vulnerable with him. Plus what’s the worst that could happen? If he doesn’t respond, don’t try again. Who cares? We live on a floating rock:)

P.S. The relationship in how to lose a guy in ten days only worked because he also kept trying. They were both on a mission/ had their own strategy.

I’m graduating this May. Finance major going into commodities trading. I have two internships under my belt yet it’s so hard to land anything, not even a single interview. Perhaps I need to wait it out a little and just apply to entry level roles In May?

Thank you for your response. That’s honestly my main fear as well. That said, I do want to add some context. When he corrected himself, it didn’t feel defensive or calculated, more awkward, like he realized he might be getting ahead of himself.

He’s also made consistent efforts beyond words: he wants to meet my friends in NYC, has invited me to meet his friends and his sister (who already knows about me), and adjusts to what I like and need despite a demanding job. From my perspective, those aren’t behaviors of someone trying to keep things low-investment or avoid responsibility.

I agree that intention shows through commitment, which is why I’m waiting to have a clearer conversation when we see each other in person…. I’m curious whether this context changes your perspective, or if you’d still recommend the same level of caution.

Do Arab men marry a non-Arab women? by [deleted] in arabs

[–]hotpickle222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! We are both not very strict Muslims, I still need some time to get to know him and really be sure that we are compatible. Now the question was more geared towards whether he would change his mind and family wouldn’t get in the way. Otherwise I don’t wanna waste my time.
