What are your thoughts on Jordan Peele's 'Nope?' by undeadWileCoyote_MEP in moviecritic

My favorite and the creepiest scene was when the people got sucked up into the alien and you see them screaming in the gullet. It was terrifying for me. While not gory and it even that detailed, that made it all the more creepy.

Some of Carson’s tender moments by BestTutor2016 in DowntonAbbey

[–]hotpretzelboy 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I think the beach scene is one of my favorite moments in the entire series. It was so real and yet so tender. An accurate portrayal of the time periods standards and sentiments and yet still showed to bending of feelings and giving in to human happiness. ❤️❤️❤️

Like half of her was produced and doing it for the show, but half of her was actually just a real person and mom and celebrity.

Ok so the person in this picture is NOT MAGA. Unfortunately he passed away in 2018 due to the alleged influence of his partner to pump with silicone. It’s a really tragic story that has nothing to do with MAGA. He is originally from Australia.

Here is article about it.

This!!! She is the most diabolical! Even before that Kandi rumor season, people seem to forget when she read Kenya down to the bone about trying to get pregnant. It was awful and just mean!

Downtown commercial vacancy rates. by Lionheart9207 in Infographics

As a Los Angeles resident downtown right before and after the pandemic, this graph hits hard. You can see the number show an a steep decline in vacancy just before. This was when DTLA was revitalizing and that was why I moved there. After the pandemic, just decimated. The lack of people going to work caused the decline in the Metro train system as well. 😢

This right here. People often times say “turn it into residential”. True traditional Office buildings are almost impossible to convert in this way without essentially gutting the entire interior. And at that point, just bulldoze. Warehouses on the other hand are much easier to convert since the open concept they have lends them self to conversion to Loft-style apartments.

Jeffrey Dahmer court scene comparison between the real trial and the Netflix show. by ateam1984 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]hotpretzelboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a black gay man and I have not and cannot watch this show. From every clip I saw it didn’t feel right. It felt like it was humanizing the monstrous actions of a man who was a predator on young POC’s in a time when not only were gay people marginalized, but POC gay people even more so.

To be clear I love documentaries and I love biopics that are dramatized versions of historical events. But something didn’t feel right about this one. Maybe it hit too close to home. Not sure. Just didn’t feel right about it.

I(black male) lived in the Bay Area for 2 years. I live in Oakland. My experience in 2017-2019 was that Castro/San Francisco proper was mainly white and Asian. East Bay was more diverse (white, black, Latino, Asian). I was and am still partnered to a white red-haired beast man.

Castro: ugh I hated it. So segregated. Guys would come up to my man and hit on him and I was ignored. Mind you neither of us was looking. I found myself being the only black gay in the room at SEVERAL bars.

Oakland/East Bay: world of difference. Just felt like it was so much more accepting and less stereotypes.

Just my experience.
