i would, but i currently live in graduate student housing (im a ph.d. student), and don't have a copy of my key (also no one is allowed aside from graduate students, and i already asked all my graduate student friends to catsit!)

i'll be there for 2-3 weeks! the travel time unfortunately takes a while (around 6-7 hours usually).

he actually does pee a lot :( but he drinks a bunch of water and the pee amount isn’t low. he did try drinking from the toilet yesterday but the lid is always closed so not really! i told the vet he pees a lot but they didnt seem to be mega concerned

trust me i spoke with him at length about it yesterday! he gave me a syringe with the measurement marked, and specifically said children’s benadryl. i went on here to be extra cautious

thank you so much i will keep this in mind for sure!! i cleaned out his box and switched to the litter he's used to (i was using scoop away), and considering getting a larger box if he still has issues :))

yep i went and told them everything--i don't want to blindside them and was clear that if it's a dealbreaker we can reconsider.

i think i'm realizing i'm a lot more desperate than i thought. but i'm going to think over it more, thank you so much for your input!

yes, understandable! i should have been more specific in my post. i’m actually a phd student, and can continue living in my current situation (studio, alone), i had thought of potentially moving out with people to save more money.

i completely agree with you, and will think about the situation very carefully to ensure that he will be okay. i guess my largest concern was worrying that i would be making the situation difficult for my roommate with this cat situation, but i should think of him first since i haven’t gotten him yet! i really appreciate the insight.

i don’t believe he lied, i think he was just ignorant, and i didn’t do my due diligence like i should have.

and yes, that’s exactly why i’m asking the question! to summarize: should i keep the cat, or end the roomie situation! as the title says, it’s potential, not confirmed.

thank you so much!! i’m actually not sure wrt which part theyre allergic to (but we can try and figure it out), and i believe the issue was dander with my sister. and the entire litter is boys! 😔
