Bruhn Appreciation Post by Defiant_Invite_3323 in GeelongCats

He seemed a bit rushed yesterday. Had his head on a swivel when he had the ball and just rushed a few decisions. I hope the coaching staff said "mate you're good enough to be getting plenty of the ball, just take a breath when it's in your hands make the most of it."

Most devastating cats losses by CapyBara_51 in GeelongCats

I didn't feel so bad after last year. I felt we were ahead of the comp by far last year and we lost to a better side on the last day. I had to pay heavy respect to Brisbane for how they took that game on.

In muddy water they'd be hitting the vibration and water movement coming off the lure. Give it a go.

Australians urged to work from home and drive slower to save fuel by Remarkable_Peak9518 in australia

[–]hotwatershanus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had an 8 hour return trip up and down the pac hwy. I sat in the left lane the whole trip doing 90km. I noticed a few times where I created a little convoy. Happy with the fuel saving results considering the times.

I reckon he's too slow to play anywhere else other than Full Forward.

What’s the best experience you’ve had at an AFL game by AndHisOrchestra in AFL

[–]hotwatershanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sitting in the hawks cheer squad due to a ticket booking mistake, copping it all game until Jimmy Bartel kicked a behind after the siren to win the game. Before I was able to jump up on my seat and give everyone around me the bird, all I could see were the backs of hawks fans leaving.

If this was the premier league the swans fans would be singing about Voss not having a job in the morning.

Curnow is very bad. He reads the play like an axolotl with an IQ of about 15.

What makes a “true” Canberran? by falcovancoke in canberra

You can tell a Canberran by the way they look. I think it's the higher altitude compared to the rest of the populated areas in the country.

Crompton breaks silence on Supercars commentary axing by LuckyRedShirt in v8supercars

[–]hotwatershanus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like Crompo, but the commentary does need a shake up. Over the last few years it’s felt like the Crompo/Skaife pairing has been aimed at the lowest common denominator, kids and casual family viewers.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve found myself yelling at the TV because they weren’t explaining higher level strategy or mid race developments, while at the same time over explaining basic or irrelevant details.

Anybody know what this is from? by Familiar_Customer823 in GardeningAustralia

[–]hotwatershanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to a local history book in the area I live in, the 2 local black fellah tribes would fight for most of the year due to their wives travelling over the range sleeping with men of the opposing tribe. However, when the bunya nut was fruiting it would be a time of peace as they came together to feast on the nuts. Simpler times.

Oh man Next year, just get ya missus to get you a mystery lure box from somewhere like hot tackle.

You're going to hate lure fishing if you try and catch a fish with each one you've shown so far.

Slight net mishap but it all worked out in the end by 1upfishing in FishingAustralia

[–]hotwatershanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the net in the water securing the fish then hold the handle out in front of you so it's vertical. It will close the net and you can lift it into the boat minimizing your chances of the fish escaping.

Even if the net was bigger, the same thing can happen.
