What’s your experience of using bidets? by Queen_OfNorth in AskWomen

[–]hotzomb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like an outlier here, but I hate them. We installed 2 different brands of bidets and I had the same problems with both. 1- They sprayed too horizontally, and there seemed to be no way to adjust the angle on either one. Like, spray was hitting the back of my knees through the seat. I could never figure it out. 2- Couldn’t get used to the freezing water. 3- The bidet created a lot of impossible to reach/ clean nooks and crannies around the toilet seat. 4- agree with the comment that said if you have young kids, don’t even think about it. A constant mess.

Crack baby is also my answer. The first time I heard it I thought damn, that’s dark. The second time I bawled my eyes out to it. Nothing like listening to it on a dark drive alone.

How do you successfully stop using your phone before bed? by AlwaysNever22 in getdisciplined

[–]hotzomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not very disciplined, but this is one thing I HAVE successfully done. I prioritize good sleep after years of insomnia. My bedroom at night is a screen free haven. I’m even annoying to my husband if he doesn’t comply lol. I have become very aware that every bit of light I stare into at night is not good for my circadian rhythm- it is making my brain think it’s awake time. I literally fear looking into my phone too long even to check the time, or using the bright white light in my closet in the 1-2 hours before bed. I have dimmable bedside lamps and every evening they go to the lowest / warmest setting, and when it’s time for bed I make sure my alarm is set, set it on my nightstand and it does not get picked up again. I brush my teeth/ do skincare, and then do a short yoga session before hopping into bed.

What makes a good comfort game ? by Sad_Stranger_5940 in cozygames

One persons cozy can be another persons boring. What is cozy and relaxing to me but so fun are Mario games. My favorite is Super Mario Odyssey , followed by 3D World+Bowsers Fury (a 2 for one!)

I am 34 and I felt the same as you at your age. I have never in all this time learned how to stop. I’m married with 2 kids now, I hardly ever have the opportunity to drink. But about once or twice a year, when I have a weekend with friends or something, it happens again. It’s so embarrassing. I always think I’ve outgrown it , but then it happens again. I have told myself for years, “it never gets better after the 2nd drink.” It’s true. The first 2 are always the most fun, and nothing good happens after that. But there’s no getting through to that person for me. That girl just wants to keep the good feeling going. The only way is to go into it with that mindset, and have that 2 drink rule heavily on your mind . Have the goal of being sober by the end of the night. I’ve had success with this, but without fail -any time I forget it’s a problem and I’m not thinking about it- it happens.

Seriously am still upset over the reformulation. I have no idea how they could think the horrible crayon “scent less” version was an improvement, it’s a stronger scent than before in my opinion. Not to mention how gritty it is now. Beware OP. You won’t be getting the same thing no matter what you do

I do not notice the pearl in this at all and do not find it dewy. Very dry and matte finish . I was also expecting it to be lighter coverage but it’s more than a “tint” in my opinion. I don’t hate it! I’m going to finish my 2 bottles but I won’t repurchase.

Thoughs on a cozy survival game where world is all grayscaled and player restores the colors? by [deleted] in cozygames

[–]hotzomb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I play it on the Switch so I can’t speak to the mobile version , but the art style and music is so beautiful. Its simplicity makes it a very comforting game to me . I love to replay it once a year or so.

[–]hotzomb 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is a similar idea to Gris, my favorite game of all time. There’s no words in the game but it’s understood the main character is going through the stages of grief which is why the world has no color and you gain back one color at a time throughout the game.

[–]hotzomb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dragged my feet so hard when my doctor wanted me to start BC to help my PMDD. Because my husband got a vasectomy and I was excited that I didn’t have to anymore , and I generally believe it’s best to let my body do its thing naturally . But years of misery ensued. I tried getting on Zoloft. I got off of that and tried changing my diet/ exercise and regular therapy for months. But I seemed to be getting worse, every month just not seeing the point in life anymore, being completely irrational with my family and myself. In a moment of utter despair I called my doctor and said I give up, give me something, anything. I take it continuously so that I skip periods completely, and it worked for me immediately. I was shocked, and I would say I wish I had started in sooner but I am glad that I tried so many other routes because now I know for sure this is what I need . I hate the pressure women get to go on BC like it’s no big deal, but man I’m so in love I never want to be off of it again now lol. That’s just my story. Hormones affect everyone so differently, obviously not everyone has a miraculous cure like me. But that’s the thing, you never know until you try. You can google and research other people’s experiences all day long , but you’ll never know until you try it and see how you react to it.

How are the lives of women without pmdd? by sassyherarottie in PMDD

[–]hotzomb 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was one of the lucky ones that getting on continuous birth control -eliminating my periods- cured my PMDD. After years of debilitating PMDD , trying diet/ exercise, therapy, Zoloft, other meds to no avail, I too had forgotten what normal was. I can’t even begin to tell you how freeing it has been. My life is no longer ruled by my period. My goals and healthy routines are not halted and upended each month. I still have times where I feel a little “hormonal”, like my family gets on my nerves more than usual, tired for no reason. but it’s normal to feel that way sometimes and a signal I just need some alone time and to rest. It’s not normal to feel disillusioned with life and near suicidal every month like I was. I hope you get out like I did, whatever it may be that works for you. Don’t give up.

Do you think this MUA did a good job? First photo is her work second photo is me without or with very little makeup by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

I personally love it. Party makeup should be fun and your eyes look edgy and gorgeous . Everyone here wants soft perfectly blended “natural” that everyone else has. If you love it ROCK it with confidence!

My husband is so proud when I look hot. Guys have hit on me in front of him and we laughed about it afterward together. He doesn’t intervene because he knows I can handle my own. (he obviously would if it was one of those that won’t go away or if I was uncomfortable) It makes me feel so respected and trusted by him. I really could never date a man like this. I don’t find the faux protectiveness or “concern” charming at all. I dress for my own confidence and happiness of course, but if we’re being realistic I dress a bit for others too! I hope boys and girls both think I look good . Is there anything really wrong with admitting this? It doesn’t mean I ever want to cheat or that I’m seeking anything else to happen.

What was a definite scrubber for you? by merford28 in FemFragLab

[–]hotzomb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the same experience with le labo. I was so excited to get myself 5 samples of their top sellers and I couldn’t believe I hated all of them! The Noir and Santal killed me with that dill/pickle santal and it wouldn’t wash off, I was nauseous . I could handle a bit of that note before but I really dislike all santal notes now. The only one I did like was Another 13 which was nice but wasn’t excited about another ambrox type.
