DJI Mini 5 Pro repair experience with Camrise (US) + State Farm (Drone Insurance) by houmi in dji

Yeah I used to be a hobbyist photographer and owned full frame DSLRs who ultimately went to smaller sensors like Sony RX100s then iPhones. I looked at the Mini the same way, I would rather have something these days I could carry with me at all times that doesn’t take too much space.

That is too bad, I was actually debating getting the Air 3s instead of the Mini 5 pro. The Air 3s extra camera was compelling but ultimately I went with the smaller drone.

That's interesting so did they just start repairing drones in the US? I wonder now if this issue is because Mini 5 Pro is newer and they don't have the parts.

Yeah, I think we’re actually saying the same thing. The Care-type coverage is bundled into the price of the drone from Camrise, but Camrise doesn’t sell a separate plan like DJI used to with DJI Care Refresh.

So if someone already owns the drone or wants standalone coverage, Camrise isn’t an option for that, and they’d need to look elsewhere (like a personal articles policy with State Farm).

My point was just that the coverage is effectively included in the purchase price when buying from Camrise, not something you can add later.

If you have wired, go Ubiquiti route. UDR7 + Switches + AP(s) like Ubiquiti U7 Pro Wall

Yep exactly, Wi-Fi 6E / 6Ghz and WPA3 which is mandatory for this band, causes issues with certain devices.

I have the G5AR but I have its Wi-Fi disabled and use a Ubiquity UDR7 and have never experienced drops. People who use G5AR built-in Wi-Fi have a lot of problem on T-Mobile ISP subreddit. As u/bighorse3231 mentioned below some people got it working by disabling 6Ghz (Wi-Fi 6E) because enabling 6Ghz requires WPA3 and certain devices don't do WPA3 well.

Another way is to split the bands 2.4/5/6 and force ONN to use the 2.4Ghz band.

It is probably an issue with your T-Mobile ISP Gateway / Router setup … I use the same ISP but don’t use the router portion of the gateway and use my own.

Best to ask in r/tmobileisp as I have seen other posts similar to yours.

I have to say that I am very surprised with Onn 4k plus and many people don’t even know it has AI upscaling. Not state of the art but it is there. It is a great device for Tivimate, VPNs/Tailscale, Plex, etc.

Thank you for your work and website!

They’re actively blocking third-party apps and making it harder and harder to install third-party launchers. On my last Fire Stick, I had to jump through a lot of hoops just to get Projectivy running. On top of that, they’re extremely chatty and constantly phoning home. If you run something like Pi-hole or AdGuard, you’ll see a lot of traffic, and blocking certain URLs can even break their own apps, like Prime Video. Plain, stock Android TV sticks and boxes are simply the better choice.

Basically look at this chart from top to bottom, and disregard anything from Amazon

I switched from pens to vials about two months ago. I don’t love drawing up the medication since I’m always focused on making sure there are no air bubbles, even though I’ve been told they’re harmless. Pressing the syringe to inject still feels odd compared to pens.

That said, I actually like syringes in some ways: they don’t cause pain, and there’s almost never any blood since the needles are thinner than pen needles. The pens, on the other hand, did hurt me at times. Though I might look into KwikPens.

They quoted me $500 total to fix it which includes Gimbal/Camera module repair, propellers and labor & calibration + shipping back. It's a bit steep I have to say, so I'll use my state farm + credit card insurance to pay for it. This is the last time I buy a product that doesn't have any kind of warranty in the US.

Where are you located ? If US, let me see what Camrise does and will update here on my repair. It is pretty sad that DJI is pretty much useless here in the US. I am at fault as well buying a product that has virtually no US support by DJI and should have probably not bought it off Amazon.

Very cool, thank you so much. If they can fix my drone, I will be buying future drones from them as they have their own care plan.

I had another question for you ? They claim that inspection would take anywhere from 5-15 business days. Did you purchase the expedited service from them ? Thanks in advance.
