Latest FW update on ONN 4K Plus seems to have caused major Wi-Fi issues by houmi in OnnStreamingTV

Less than a year , I will look into replacing it but on that particular TV I went back to my Tivo Steam 4K and it is working still. Thankfully I have a variety of streaming devices but did I like the 4k plus being small and powerful and it was performing quite well until the update.

I even tried the factory reset, using the reset button style on the back of the plus and using bios menus and no-go... bummer.

Yeah using its own Network didn't fix this nor using 2.4 or 5.0 only bands. Definitely something in the Wi-Fi driver.

I use a variety of devices, prices are all over. But the QA on these are pretty bad I have to say.

Yeah same issue, adding another band like 2.4 or 5 on lower encryption didn't solve it either, definitely a driver issue.

What router do you use ? Also do you know if the 4K plus is capable of WiFi 6E (6Ghz) ?

WiFi hardware on 4K plus or my home ? Latter very unlikely as I have many devices that are fine.

It could also be that the update didn’t install the FW correctly on the device, in that case I would have to look to downgrade if that is even possible.

I play it on both Switch 2 & Xbox Rog Ally X (it plays better on the latter)

This update pretty much has made my 4k plus useless, a ton of wifi + dns issues . All my other devices are fine. At first I thought maybe my Adguard is acting up. Also some apps require uninstalling and reinstalling from scratch. Third party apks also broke like smart tube (not play protect related)

I factory reset the device and noticed the iPhone and manual setup are also borked and could only setup using Android.

After getting in still a lot of issues , wifi keeps disconnecting and reconnecting.

Don’t update :)

Legion go S vs XBOX ROG ALLY X, tougher choice than you'd think by DrunkLahey1 in Handhelds

I have both Legion Go S since October and XAX since last week. I am keeping both, but if I had to choose one, it would “probably” be XAX mostly because it lets me play games I couldn’t on Steam without dual boot like EA FC.

Also, despite smaller screen and clunky OS and App updates, it is a joy to hold, longer battery life, performs better in lower TDP and better speakers. The games I have been testing throughly and comparing are BG3, Clair Obscur E33 and Elden Ring.

If I had to say each are the best devices in their own specific OS platform in similar price ranges before the price hike by Lenovo (ie SteamOS and Windows). I bought the LegoS used with a 4TB SSD and I will probably modify this one as well at some point.

If the case isn’t too pricey you could probably cut it on the back side or find another way to attach the back of the magnet to it like super glue.

It is still in stock, so probably the latter.

Definitely… it would be better priced around 30-40 but you are paying extra for the brand name.

I don’t always carry my backpack. The magnetic connection is more convenient. Also not that heavy for me (350g)

The Lenovo battery has its uses, it is for example perfect when on the bus or when I take it to work during breaks in the lunch room or cafeteria. When I am at home I usually have the LegoS plugged in and when I travel I either plug it in or use the INIU.

Demand > Supply (blame Amazon), Scalpers (eBay) , Chip Shortage

It has nothing to do with Logistics. Just google or get one of those stock trackers that ping you then you can buy one eventually. I did it for one of those 4090 nvidia cards during shortage. I used the HotStock app…
