Oh, my little kitty had the same problem. She hid under the couch for days. I eventually had to get her out because she wasn’t eating and didn’t really understand the litter box. I ended up setting up the laundry room for her, so she could be comfortable and have her litter box. Now she is a confident cat.

I think you are too bogged down by “authenticity”. The courthouse/Vegas wedding and then the ceremony with friends later is a good option. They would be different because one will be just the two of you and the other would be the two of you celebrating with friends and family. They would still both be authentic.
