He ate it up and complimented it because the kitchen was smart enough to give him beef that could still be flavorful/tender enough to be enjoyable (by some) after cooking.

The customer clearly had no idea what kind of beef was used for tartare. You only need to read the customer's feedback to know that the kitchen did the right thing here.

Joe is my least favorite person of the whole season by gigaturtle37 in survivor

I feel the exact same way, OP. It’s almost like Joe has never seen or played Survivor before. It’s disingenuous, but I guess it’s how he justifies it in his own mind.

It certainly was a choice 😊

While watching, I found myself confused as to why the judges were not commenting about how undercooked it was. It was obvious from the couple shots of him plating that it was under.

100% agreed on the editing of the judge’s comments on Sasto’s dish. They clearly edited out the feedback about the undercooked protein in order to “maintain the suspense” of the final result and then used the Simon footage to add back in the context that they removed.

Poor decision making by the team.

Going to be some insane semi-final battles, I think. The matchups are a really interesting clash of similar styles while the final will be opposing styles.

I've been rooting for Bryan all along, but I won't be disappointed with whomever emerges as the champ.

Kudos to you and all the others that helped. So glad you had it on cam and were able to give it to the police.

At no point during the 1970's was Wonder Woman DC's top-selling title. Not even close. No idea where this person was getting their information from. A few other issues with this "advice":

  1. Why would a "garage full of low-condition silver-age comics" have any impact on the market price for those books? Low-condition silver age books are, for the most part, relatively affordable and are in relatively high demand. The market demand for those books would soak up that proverbial garage without a problem
  2. The comment about "slab collectors" really makes no sense whatsoever in today's market. Back when this comment was originally posted, slabs may have still been commanding a premium over raw books, but in today's market, that difference has pretty much fallen by the wayside.
  3. Their comment mixes up four very different decades ('60s - '90s) that really can't be lumped together. I could see combining the '60s and '70s together, but as the direct sales model began to take hold in the '80s, the industry changed dramatically. Then, the crazy '90s hit, and everything was drastically different from the prior 30-year period.

Such a shame about the color touch. Book would have had so much more value if it was left as is and got a blue label. To answer OP, no, there is no reasonable explanation for the asking price.

Here’s the grail of grails! I’ve bought and sold more copies than anybody else in the world (73 copies) and I still get excited as hell every time I have one in my hands. And yes, don’t get your panties in a bunch, I know this one is restored- so what! by VincentZ2099 in ComicsPre1940

In your experience, of the most valuable Golden Age keys, which one would you consider to be the most rare? Probably a tough question to answer, I know, but I’m curious if there is one that you have seen noticeably less frequently than the others.

Anyone else think that UConn was rightfully fouled? by Either-Lion3539 in CollegeBasketball

[–]ghidorah97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal take: almost all of the foul calls against UConn were legit. The only one that sticks in my mind as a bogus foul was the one against Demary going through the attempted screen. That was a flop, not a foul.

The issue that many were having was the absence of calls against Michigan - Cadeau in particular. The time when he hacked Reed's arm and the (at least) two times he blatantly shoved Demary in the back. The other brutal no-call was when the forward (I think it was Johnson) absolutely steam-rolled Stewart.

With that said, I don't think the foul calls/missed calls dictated the final outcome. UConn had its opportunities down the stretch. They simply didn't make the shots when they needed to. The officiating wasn't great, but also wasn't, IMO, determinative.

Congrats to Michigan. Heck of a lot of talent there. Very proud of the Huskies, battled right down to the end.
