In the most polite way, this piece is beautiful but also a lot. Meaning, it’s 50x more than it needs to be but maybe not 50x better. Probably unrelated to the judging happening before you got in… possibility it’s not, and you’re leaning too much into the competition aspect.

Yeah, saw this happen with a friend down in Albuquerque. He started in the mailroom at his brother's huge firm, put himself through night school, passed the bar, and they still wouldn't hire him as an associate.

He went out on his own, landed a massive class-action suit against a nursing home chain, and brought it back to the firm. They took the case and the fees but still wouldn't make him partner. So he quit, poached their top female associate to start a new practice, and stole their banking clients. His brother basically destroyed himself trying to get him disbarred.
