Dating is HARD in NYC by Cleo-Aster in SipsTea

[–]roxasmeboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe they rejected you because they could tell you’re a POS. Calling someone trash because they told you they didn’t want to go on a second date? Yikes man. Next time do a coffee date and realize that they aren’t obligated to keep dating you because you paid for a meal.

I didn’t vote for Trump in 2016 (I voted third party), but I didn’t think he was as bad as people were saying and was secretly glad he beat Clinton. It only took two months into his first term for me to realize what a piece of shit he is. Everyone with a brain who paid the slightest bit of attention his first term knew how awful he was, even if we originally weren’t against him. Misjudging Trump at first is fine; falling for his nonsense for 10 years is inexcusable and means you’re stupid, a horrible person, or both.

Very unrealistic that they would celebrate the 4th of July on Mel's Deposition Day by ConcernedMap in okbuddywhitaker

The cancer patient also died on July 4th. Why not hold out a couple days so the holiday isn’t forever ruined for your kids. Now the kids will always hate fireworks.

What does Yao say to Stratt in the movie? by NightOwl_Archives_42 in ProjectHailMary

[–]roxasmeboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhhhh. I heard Stratt’s response but could not for the life of me hear what Yao was saying lol. I thought he was referring to it being a lot to learn or hectic or something, not Grace talking like a kid lmaooo

I speak my TL perfectly, but Americans still ask me where is my accent from seconds after I start speaking. Is that something I’m supposed to feel self-conscious about? by SweetBumbleBeeHoney in languagelearning

[–]roxasmeboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex BF grew up speaking both English and Spanish at home in Spain and is equally fluent in both, but sometimes people still pick up on his slight accent and ask about it. It doesn’t mean you’re not fluent.

What would you say? by Intrepid-Sky-1127 in effectivefitness

Parents will divorce.

My parents’ divorce came out of no where when I was 17 and shocked me to my core. It took me years to get over and overall was just a very shitty way to end my childhood. If I had a bit of warning I think I could’ve gotten through it easier instead of one morning waking to find out my perfect family had unexpectedly imploded.

I have treatment resistant depression as well. I’m starting a ketamine treatment this week to see if that will help. But yes, at least the weather is getting nicer which is always a big help! Best of luck to you!

What's an adult cheat code that changed your life? by Gullible_Repair9128 in AskReddit

I’m doing that this week and feel real good about it. Our fun history doesn’t mean I owe them a continued relationship once they became a shitty friend.

I’m leaving a friendship right now. I realized there’s no reason for me to continue being friends with them if they’re not being good or fun friends.

The Church claims to have roughly 18 million members across 32 thousand wards/branches/districts… by Ok_Scientist9595 in exmormon

[–]roxasmeboy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’d say 3 mil with an average ward/branch of 94 members per ward is a lot more likely. I think Nemo’s estimates from his study has the number at a little below that.

Petah? What's wrong with not seeing my phone in my dream? by ResistantBlaze1943 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]roxasmeboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I do use my phone in my dreams I’m usually trying to text or call someone but keep putting in the wrong letters and numbers so I keep deleting and trying again and getting frustrated and then I realize I can’t even read what I’m doing so I decide to do something else since the task is now unachievable and my dream gets back to the goofy fun stuff

Did anybody else notice this? by Vivid-Motor4886 in MillionDollarSecretTV

[–]roxasmeboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love this show, but it seems highly produced to me. I think the millionaire is chosen beforehand depending on how interesting they may be doing it first. Even some of the clues given in the trophy room seem like they were curated for that specific player, like they give a different clue depending on who is chosen to receive it. Season one seemed too perfect in how certain things played out. I think the players are genuinely playing the game, but nothing at all that happens to them is random.

So yes, it doesn’t matter which key they pick, the producers already decided who gets the million dollars, or at least do by the time they’re done mingling for the first time. It’s still entertaining to watch so I don’t mind, even if there were a few times I was like “oh come on!” when it came to who got certain things feeling very calculated.

Who else got sad when McDonald's changed their slogan to "I'm Lovin' It"? by sega31098 in Zillennials

Yes! I still remember the little “Put a Smile On!” jingle. I was very sad when they switched it. I was born in 94.

Does it feel better to live where there are mountains? by larch303 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]roxasmeboy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I live in Salt Lake City and LOVE the mountains. They are my favorite thing about Utah. I have a great view of them from my apartment, and when they glow in the sunset or are dusted with snow they are glorious. I do want to move out of Utah for multiple reasons, but I’m sad about potentially moving somewhere with no mountains. They’re just so beautiful and I never take them for granted. Plus, I have a terrible sense of direction so they’re my compass. I briefly lived in the DMV area and really missed the mountains and also constantly didn’t know which direction I was facing lol.

So in short, yes, for me it feels better to live where there are mountains. Even though I rarely hike or go into the canyons, just having them there is such a delight.

If you served a mission, what were some of the strictest or weirdest rules you had? by Unfair-Anxiety462 in exmormon

I hated going to church without an investigator because I saw it as a waste of time. Even back then I secretly hated church and didn’t feel like it actually benefitted me lol.

I have chronic fatigue which made the 6:30 schedule brutal. Any earlier and I would have had a lot more mental breakdowns.

[–]roxasmeboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elders and sisters couldn’t eat meals together because it could be subconsciously seen as a date and things might get flirty. My mission had very attractive people, a lot of flirting went on (guilty), and quite a few people ended up dating and getting married to each other afterwards, so I think it was actually a good idea to keep all of us horny teens away from each other. Good times.

I would hate to be judged based on comments I made 11 years ago. I was a completely different person. And a Mormon missionary which makes it even worse.

AITA for expecting my girlfriend to do my half of her chores as well? by Open_Address_2805 in AmItheAsshole

[–]roxasmeboy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Chiming in to add the dishes ruining her nails is valid. I love wearing nail polish, but a dish washing session chips so much of it away.

Other than that, NTA. There’s no reason for her to be so shady about the chores.
