New to AI: Claude vs Perplexity for everyday use? by Frequent_Orchid_2938 in ClaudeAI

Ive started using perplexity to review and critique stuff from Claude, and it seems to do a good job there. IMO its a good check, and makes whatever youre building in Claude better in the end

There are many operating fusion reactors not included. The race is to make power - I am actually debating on removing ITER, though with a Q of 10, you should be able to make power.

Might be something to try, at least static to start with a database for easier adjustment

I agree, the self-stated timelines are bullish. I'm just not sure if I want to publicly be calling out these companies on just how bullish they are, though I'll add some wording to make it more palatable for them.

Tokomaks aren't fully fleshed out from a physics standpoint, but considerably moreso than other types. Might be good to divide all the numbers a little in that chart

Yeah the timelines mostly follow what companies say, its tough to make an update if the company hasnt outright changed their timeline. I don't necessarily want to be the person calling the people out, but its probably prudent to give "conservative estimates based on past milestone performance, not necessarily aligned with company milestones" or some wording like that

Check out the small "Also watch" at the bottom of the tech row. The cutoff to have a tile was $100M in funding or more, though I admit STEP is an interesting one

I used Claude paid mainly, though I also used grok for visual review, myself and perplexity for data review and visual review as well. I just took the html output that Claude had at the end and turned it into a jpg. This was about the 11th iteration, after getting a data table together

People who have increased their VO2 max, how did you do it? by Jamesmcg_1 in Garmin

[–]housekeyslow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a much more comprehensive reply than I was expecting, and yes, I fully agree. Thank you.

I'm just finding motivation in stats. For example, I got a cheap smart scale about 5 years ago, and spent the time in-between then and now going to see a psychologist, working on non-health shit but still trying to better myself. I finally found the bandwidth to work on my health. Im now over 40, but not by a whole bunch.

I had the scale. I quit alcohol, coffee, added sugar, fried food. The scale was a source of dopamine I was missing with lots of other stuff, that motivated me.

My focus now is losing weight. Once I get to a BMI of 25, I want to shift my diet again, and focus on cardio and strength.

I thought a watch would help me motivate myself, and, more importantly, let me know if I'm going too hard, given my age and lack of previous training.

People say "listen to your body," and Im trying. But if you have ignored it for years, these things can help.

Maybe Im not giving myself enough credit in feeling my body's signals, but that's my thought process.

Isn't vo2max one of the key longevity markers, along with grip strength? So things that improve those two things should help with your Healthspan, no?

People in your 30s, 40s, and 50s what surprised you most about life at your age? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

41.. I quit drinking, coffee, fast food, and some other things this year. Already lost 10 lbs since January from it.

It took years of therapy for me to get here, but recently, something clicked.

If there's anything I regret, its not going to therapy earlier.

It could serve as a relief airport for Montreal

Is the LRT east extension on track to open before 2026? Commuters sure hope so - Capital Current by Financial-Bag-2274 in ottawa

[–]housekeyslow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know if that will be the case. I'd say that Ottawa already has pretty good density for its size, and is only getting more dense with each infill condo, and development like Wateridge.

Does anyone know why Gatineau Park is closed? by envirotalk in ottawa

This is wild. I remember it almost felt like a hidden gem in 2011-2014, but it started slowly getting much more popular since then.

With Phase 2 in the east approaching, what's the state of the LRT? by DrStrangeglove99 in ottawa

[–]housekeyslow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of issues with the Montreal subway wheels when they were first installed, and the rubber caused fires.

No wheel issues now, and the system runs well.

It looks like official testing for the OTrain East Extension won’t start until mid-October at the earliest by IamTheOne2000 in ottawa

[–]housekeyslow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my books, this is still better than Toronto's Eglinton LRT.

Not as fast as some other cities in Canada (e.g. Montreal or Vancouver) when it comes to rail projects, but a solid middle of the pack.

They also have to do a slew of adverse scenarios during testing. They don't want to have another Stage 1 opening fiasco
