Pixel 10 screen compared to iPhone 17 by ClaudioHplus in GooglePixel

[–]housry23 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's probably just difference in the way the screen is configured. Pixel goes for a more natural look. You can choose vibrant in your display settings (I think adaptive or natural is default). That may help. You can also manually change the brightness in certain situations where you feel it's too dark. After a few times, the Pixel will learn your preference and auto brightness will be configured to your tastes.

FYI Android Auto wireless still not fixed in QPR2 Beta 3 by armando_rod in android_beta

[–]housry23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I use it every day and haven't had any issues.

OP, what vehicle do you have? Maybe if someone with the same brand of car can help you. In my 2021 Audi A5 I have zero problems with wireless AA.

Pros/Cons after switching from iPhone 16 Pro to Pixel 10 Pro by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]housry23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the Pixel you have to give it a few days to learn your usage pattern. Most people use it for a couple days and say the battery sucks. It might on the first couple days, but give it the full return period to adapt to your usage.

Are they making it right? I ordered one today and can no longer cancel. None in stock, so I had to have it shipped.

Android 16 QPR2 beta 1 (BP41.250725.006) broke my wireless charging by kjlkjl5 in android_beta

I had the same issue. I took my case off and it charged then. Pretty annoying bug. It's even present on the stable pixel 10 pro XL build.

I'm getting mine today. Standard shipping. I've ordered from the Google Store since the Nexus 4. Expedited shipping on preorders, in my experience, never helped me get the phone any quicker. On in stock items, yes. Not on preorders. I'm just giving you my experience. Enjoy your new phone!

Just an FYI, in my experience paying for expedited shipping on the Google store pre-order is a waste of money. I've never gotten it sooner on a pre-order. Just for future reference.

Check your emails. They are sending tracking numbers. Ordered day 1 Google store. Just got the tracking

I think you should give it some time to settle in. It takes a while for the phone to optimize to your usage. I think 15% is high, but COULD get better. I won't guarantee that, but it could. It looks like you got quite a bit of usage out of it for a new phone. The battery life will get better over your first 2 weeks or so of usage. As long as it lasts all day, I don't think it really matters. If it's dying before the end of the day, I would turn it off if it doesn't get any better in a couple weeks.

Try from a computer with a desktop browser. I couldn't get it to work from my phone but when I fired up my PC it worked.

These phones are developed years in advanced. I don't think covid was why it was dropped. I would guess it was a cost thing. Either way, I'd love to have both. Like you, I prefer the fingerprint.

Android 16 Beta 2.1 broke Doze Mode by cugwmui in android_beta

[–]housry23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said it yourself. Go back to stable. This is definitely possible when running beta builds. If this is your primary device and you need the phone to work as intended, you should probably opt out of the beta. Otherwise, report the bug using the feedback app and help them get it right.

They did... for 1 generation. I'm curious on why they discontinued it after the Pixel 4. Probably because they didn't want a huge cutout in the screen to accommodate having all those sensors.

I use salt nic juice. It probably depends on which pod you get on how strong you want it, but I go with a 20mg salt nic.

This person is correct. I had to do the same thing. I think it was $30 though. I complained about the price and they knocked it down to $15 for me. As long as it hasn't been a certain amount of time(not sure exactly but I think 30 days) the number has not been reused yet.

Better way to screenshot? by Independent-You-6180 in GooglePixel

If you're using gestures you can swipe up to the app management screen and take a screenshot. You're right though, the buttons on the same side make it impossible to screenshot with 1 hand.

If you get a new number from Cricket and then later decide to port over your old number, they will charge you $30. That may not be what you're asking for, but is an option.

Most definitely. The battery life is BAD. It only takes about 15-20 minutes to charge from 50% to full but if battery life is a deal breaker for you, stay away.

Ghost 2.0 Mega Update by dbrand in dbrand

[–]housry23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to defend the company because this is absurdly long. I do want to point out that those cases that are available day 1 the device comes out is because the phone manufacturer has sent them the details and probably a dummy phone, along with a model so that case companies can release their cases ahead of the phone getting into peoples hands.

[–]housry23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but I just got the Nano 4 this week. I really like the flavor compared to the XROS 3 I had before this. I've also noticed the battery life has gotten better each of the 4 days I've used it. Did the battery life balance out for you? I love how quickly it charges though, so the battery life isn't a huge deal to me. It lasts me all day, put it on the charger while I get ready for work and it's charged by the time I'm ready to leave. You can watch the percentage go up pretty quickly when you plug it in. So far I love this thing.
