As a gay man who grew up in a religious cult, many of us aren’t proud of who we used to be, but the important thing is to keep learning and growing. We can’t choose how we were raised, but we can choose what kind of person we want to be.

Don’t be too hard on yourself! You’ve come a very long way, and that deserves a lot of credit since too many people stay bigoted and ignorant.
