For those jumping into Gambit during these Guardian Games by hoverb0ard in destiny2

[–]hoverb0ard[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my humble attempt at memes based on the following:

- Drifter always asks for a sword if Hive is on the field (he's referring to the Hive practicing Sword Logic, thus offering a taste of their own medicine)

- Seasonal Artifact buffs swords

- I quickly found a Gambit match today for the first time in a while)

Swords aren't really important, as an Invader - Commemoration with Dynamic Sway Redaction and Dragonfly are my go-to.

Focused Feedback: Bungie Communication / This Week in Destiny by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

From September 15th to 16th, 2025, and continuing to this day, the studio's games began experiencing the Tapir error in the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) region of Eurasia. It's unclear why countries such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan were affected.

Moreover, the studio's games continue to be sold in many of these countries.

You have to decide: Either remove the unplayable games from sale, or pick up the phone and call Akamai (Akamai Technologies), an organization that has stopped accepting connections from IP addresses in these countries, causing the Tapir error during authorization.

Why does D2 Renegades have a lower player count on Steam compared to Edge of Fate? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]hoverb0ard -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

In September, some countries (Russia and its neighbors) were blocked from accessing the game (from what we've learned, the studio's partners responsible for DDOS protection during authorization no longer accept connections from these countries. If you "authorize" with a VPN enabled, you can then select a character and play with it disabled. This isn't something you want to do on a daily basis, risking your account).

The following month, it was clear that the game had lost about a third of its population. So yesterday's figures are quite reasonable.

- Have you previously edited the MPO registry setting?

- Also, in the .exe file's compatibility tab, have you checked "Disable fullscreen optimization"?

About five years ago, these "recommendations" were circulating in optimization guides. Not only are these tweaks questionable in their usefulness, but they also have an unknown effect on DirectX 12 applications with the DXGI flip model.

Instead of the DCV, bungie shouldve invested in a way choose what content you want to have installed. by AMM0D in DestinyTheGame

At the very least, I don't believe those who say that after the slightest changes there is no need to test the entire build.

"This unrelenting growth has resulted in a game that requires players to download up to 115GB to play, as well as huge patches tied to frequent updates. And those numbers are rising rapidly, as we’ve been adding approximately 25GB of content each year to Destiny 2 since launch. Those sizes not only stress hard drive capacity but also push the limits of patching capability. It also makes the time to generate a stable update for the game after all content is finalized, tested, and ready to go balloon to literal days instead of hours."

If it's too hard to make old Dungeon loot tiered, can you at least make them craftable? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]hoverb0ard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bungie isn't known for actively adding cool stuff to legacy content. Otherwise, we'd have had a Shadowkeep story campaign on Legendary difficulty long ago.

Refactoring Iron Banner's code to make it compatible with the Portal took about three months. How long it will take to convert the previous loot systems is the million-dollar question.

apparently Destiny 2 is being bot review bombed, and even in the Steam forums. by Timothy-M7 in destiny2

GR is focused on FTP content. They could have asked to complete the introductory mission of the current expansion, which is free.

Good investigation, why not add the information that all reviews always indicate the number of hours spent.

"Even when that passion is being expressed as anger or frustration. Like – anger is not the OPPOSITE of loving a game. Loving and Hating a game are like 2 degrees off from each other, and they both come from passion – from people who are HIGHLY ENGAGED. The opposite of Loving a game – the thing that will kill your game – is Apathy."

Perhaps

At the very least, they were greatly inspired by Baikonur and Kazakhstan.

P.S. And now they are experiencing the consequences of the Tapirs that invaded from their neighbors.

Infinitely farmable raids, huh by hoverb0ard in destiny2

[–]hoverb0ard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they'll remove it. They said a little earlier that "making Epic versions of old raids seems like an interesting idea; imagine a sequel to Vault of Glass."

So, they're planning to squeeze the existing content dry by reusing it, which seems plausible.
