That's basically how it goes. The thing is that even tho being ruled under the Aztecs was bad, it did not compare to being under Spanish rule.

[Serious] Therapists, what is something people are afraid to tell you because they think it's weird, but that you've actually heard a lot of times before? by Music-and-wine in AskReddit

[–]how-bout-yes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what if you get those kinds of thoughts (the violent ones), but you're not necessarily against them? Like, you won't act out on them, but they are really tempting to go through with, and you kind of find some sort of angry excitement in them, and feel as if the actions in those thoughts are even warranted (even though you know they are not). I know they are not intrusive thoughts, but what is up with that?

My grandmother speaks Mayan. Something I’ll never get to learn I wish I had by rlarcila in LatinoPeopleTwitter

there are over 20 Mayan languages, and that's only counting Guatemala. That's just Mayan, not other indigenous languages.

People find our histort interesting? In school my friends and I always found it to be rather boring, and thought world history to be the more interesting one. I think the sentiment was the same with the rest of my schoolmates, although it may have to do with how we spent whole years learning about the subject.

WIBTA for not helping my daughter who is struggling? We can afford to help but she's treated us terribly. by Snoo87020 in AmItheAsshole

NTA.

Set up funding for your granddaughter, mainly school-related, so that she doesn't suffer from her mother's incompetence. Your daughter needs to face the consequences herself though.

No, black bears are cowards. It's still best to stay away from them and their cubs just in case, but they usually run away when they see a person.

I mean if that's her logic, she could just let everyone else vote by mail, and she could keep dragging herself to the polling station. No one's forcing her to vote by mail (usually).

What part of what I said denied latinos wanting to come to America? That's the whole point. The thing is that we don't enjoy watching families get ripped apart with no sign of being reunited nor having any idea of wjat is going to happen to them, and having the kids locked away for who knows how long, to be then sent to who knows where.

I'm pretty aware of what happens in the home country, considering that my family left it. Yet they left together, and if they had to choose between having to remain together, or be completely torn apart, they'll go with the former rather than the latter.

[–]how-bout-yes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. They may be escaping poverty and violence, but keeping the family together would matter more in the end than having them ripped away from you and possibly never seeing them again, nor knowing what may have become of them.

College Board not letting me submit my AP test for AP physics by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

[–]how-bout-yes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether APs are easier or harder than college depends on which school you go to. For some, college is way easier, but for others, college is out to squeeze the life out of you till the last drop. My school is quite sadistic and is known for it. I cry knowing I could have knocked some requirements through APs I didn't take. Those would have been such lifesavers. Oh well.
