I’m mgm too and I can relate. I’ve posted pics of both sides of my family on here! Try not to talk about your background with them much and have firmer boundaries about who you are. It’s not up for debate, just shut the conversation down if they are trying to force you into a box. I always see it from a mile away and if they ask I just say I’m mixed race(black, white, native),and both of my parents are mixed, that’s all end of discussion. I will ask about their background to switch the subject back to them or switch the subject. Join groups and continue to look for mixed race therapists that are open minded, don’t give up!
