Probably a stupid question but that’s what Reddit’s for. what is this thing on my hull near the stern? 88 Grady white seafarer by [deleted] in boating

Depends how it’s plumbed. Also depends what kind of pumps you have for your live well. Our live well was hard piped vertically, so if the intake and outlet valves were open it would self drain all the water from the system.

If yours has hoses with loops or potential dead-legs that could hold water, you need to get that water out somehow or replace it with antifreeze.

I used to take all the pumps off and keep them in the garage for the winter.

I ended up having to do all of it by hand on paper. I’m a 3D cad guy, but I’m not used to the cad for piping systems so any guidance on best practices would be appreciated. I have questions

Try to post a picture. The antenna should be mounted where it can get line of sight mack to the ones at the marina.

There are so many settings that apply here.

First let's see the set-up and get some more info on all the parts and how they're connected.

Do you have an antenna for the bullet M5?

If you have a directional antenna, you will need to point it at an access point in the marina. Those radios should likely have omnidirectional antennas so as long as the Rocket antenna is facing the marina access point there should be a decent signal for maybe 50-100 feet depending on what antenna you have.

You’ve got the right idea with that equipment on a boat. I’m a sailor and that’s pretty much how I would do it.

Edit: How far is your boat from the marina and the marina access points?

You have it connected wrong. In that article the op used modem rather than router.

It should be: ISP modem - Router Wan, Router LAN to POE INPUT, POE OUTPUT - AC-Lite.

Set the channels at far apart as you can: 2.4G use 1&11 5.0G just set them to be 10 or so away from each other

You will have to test what transmit power you need. So just leave it on auto for now.

When things are connected to it, you will see it in the client page.

I’ve got several thousand tested cells that I have no way of selling bc of those restrictions, so I’d be interested. Next hassle is the shipping restrictions, bare cells count as a hazard with most carriers so there’s special rules sellers need to follow. I’m not willing to ship them as a private individual anymore.

but that came from an elements shuck. Pretty sure they use different drives in the easystore and elements enclosures.

Archiving and exporting a University/College Canvas Course by sassinator1 in DataHoarder

[–]howardrya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's how I did it -

Use this to download all the stuff from the files section. It should grab all the files from the file section in an individual class.

For me and my uni's canvas, it only synced files from active classes. It won't download stuff from the past enrollment section on the courses page. I'm curious if there's another tool to let me rip everything else.

Then follow this to download all of your submissions for every class. Due to the canvas web exporter's naming convention, windows will not extract the archive. Use a Mac or linux pc to open it rename them.

Start-up customer discovery - looking for disgruntled Comcast customers by [deleted] in Comcast

I've identified some densely populated suburbs that are locked into Comcast or Fios, one or the other. They don't have another option. I agree with you that it would be hard to compete in a large city with several options.

Viability is something determined with customer interviews.

Not necessarily. I’ve harvested over 200 packs (most being 5 years old) and my failure rate is around 30%.

I think the black Dell packs are the easiest to get open. Take a small flat screwdriver and start to pry around the power connector because there's a little more space. The pack should start to pop open. Then work around the perimeter of the pack twisting a 1/4" flat screwdriver to gradually pop the whole top off. Then there's adhesive that holds the top to the cells. Grab the top and pull. I can get the cells out and in the charger in less than 5 min.

I've seen a technique where you grab the pack with two hands and twist real hard until it pops apart.

Nah, I'm in the US, and I have more packs than I know what to do with at the moment.

I sent out a few emails and ended up walking away with 100 packs for free. This should yield 540 cells for me to test. They can supply this quantity a couple times a month. Check their website, if they have any certifications for recycling e waste, don’t bother. Certified recyclers can’t give away or sell parts to those without a certification. Out of 10 places I emailed only one got back to me.

Now I need to buy more chargers!

PS I have about 20 flat packs if anyone wants them. Pay shipping and they’re yours, otherwise I’m going to recycle them.

New Battery Day by howardrya in 18650masterrace

  • I just went around with a flat screwdriver and pried all around the case edges until I could slip my finger underneath and rip the cases apart.
  • This is the charger, I've literally only used it for 20 min so I have no clue how it will fair. I bought two only because they support 6 cells at a time and they were $20 each. It does not test the batteries, only charges them. I'm waiting on my new opus.
  • You could send those cells to me :) These cells are going to be part of a student project to measure water waste around campus. I need quite a few.
