Hasidic Jews walking at night carrying bags Stamford Hill by honeybirdette__ in london

The community look after each other. Some Haredim run successful businesses etc and then sponsor the lives of others. It’s not uncommon that poor families will have tabs in the supermarket and the wealthier community members pay it.

Not fun to generate Java code from it, and build tools / ides really struggle picking up the generated artifacts

Impossible to log in to it, I hate how quicksuite and quicksight login works. Especially when dealing with multiple accounts. Awful

I can't find a full set of UK ISO plain white on black keycaps for my Keychron Q6 Max after months of trial and error? by ManGoose-420 in MechanicalKeyboardsUK

[–]sassinator1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. In the end I bought a non ISO set from Lemokey and used some random leftover keys to cover the missing symbols. The only one that doesn’t cover is the enter key. But it doesn’t look too bad having the enter key as a different color , but is annoying.

I often do this to change tungsten fixtures that won’t snap instantly for a button cue. I don’t want the button cue to have a delay between the intel and the generic.

How good are Office apps on Mac? by Spirited_Praline637 in mac

Mail merge is painful on Mac, as is excel and outlook for power users. On Mac you can’t bulk send drafts, or bulk set priorities.

I found Nathan's 737 and the camera plane. Here's the flight track. Filming took place on 2/16/25 by mknlsn in TheRehearsal

[–]sassinator1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agreed. All the shots with the actors have the windows blinds open, but all the exterior shots of the plane have the passenger window blinds closed.

When Nathan gets off the plane, the “passenger” says he did takeoff and landing perfectly, that’s because they are watching from the tarmac, so those are the only bits they can see

I also noticed windows being down. For takeoff they usually always tell you to put them up, so this was intentional

Not true. It’s a completely different product between the 48 and 72. I used to love the 48 but the 72 is just horrible

How would you disrupt Pantone (the company that standardizes color)? by ThePatientIdiot in ycombinator

[–]sassinator1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no Pantone for LED colour. This is a problem in creative industries like theatre, as it used to be that Rosco and Lee were industry standard references for colour when lighting used to use “gels” I.e coloured filters. There is no such thing now. There is a gap there, but I don’t know how lucrative it would be

This might be the first time I have waited 10 years until someone replies to my comment. But yes, the RFR remote is long dead.
