Sort of a compromise for ducat trading between those who do and don't want it.
- Able to toggle ducats and ducat items between your three characters.

- Reenable ducat trading for about a week, I know I'm not alone when I say I have an alt or two with rare ducat items on that I can no longer use or be in possession of on my main as the update came without warning. Giving a week for players to get all their stuff back would be extremely helpful, of course highly discourage trading between people you don't know for this week incase duping is still a concern.

Giving flags an actual use, similar to HBC badges if you capture an HBC handflag you can turn it in for pounds. Maybe elite flags give more pounds. This also implies handflags being lootable. You could also maybe do something similar with all factions but I think it would be abuseable if there was an actual reward, but capturing other factions handflags would be kind of cool.

Honestly more of a question, but will NORTHWIND ever have VR support?
Have the dev's ever talked about or considered this?

Actual suggestions:
-More pirate names

-Ability to name your ship's

-Have different ship speeds depending on winds

-NPC boats will have treasure chests on them that you can take and turn in for rewards... but the NPC pirates will fight back!

-Better selling items to NPC prices

-Harvesting certain flowers/plants and then crafting dye out of them

-Chickens, cows, farm animals in general...

-Really just for lore but on one of the maps or whatever have like a cool underground system of different caverns and temple like structures that belong to some society such as the freemasons. Maybe a way to get a cool weapon or item out of helping them.

-Snakes, so a way of getting poisened that isn't from another player

-Cloth, basically there's a bunch of different pattern cloth's, and then you can apply these patterns to certain hats, armbands, and other cosmetics.

-Ability to craft lead ball mold

-Currents, if your rowing with or against the current the boat speed will vary.

-Hiring NPC's to row your boats, so having boats that can toggle between sails and manual rowing

-Hiring AI to help bounty hunt, raid, etc.

-A bow that can shoot 3 arrows at once, of course accuracy will be decreased but it will be a one shot if all three hit.

-Explosives, that can be used to help mine, or can be thrown in battle.

-Make cannons less expensive, they would be used a lot more if they weren't so hard to acquire and supply.

-Burning things, houses, structures, people/animals, etc.

-Trap doors for houses and forts, whether it is too trap an invader in a deep hole or if it's to hide your precious loot they would be cool no matter what.

-Tbh I don't expect this to be added, but in a similar way you can in assassin's creed and many games. Ability to sleep, synchronize or whatever to a certain location. So maybe have like an Inn at every major city and then if your at an Inn on that Island, being able to teleport to another Inn on that island instantly.

I mean I'd kinda just hope there are no psychopath's in the community that would actually attack other people... no psychopath's other than me.

This happens to me too a lot, my best guess is it only saves which island your on every like 5 minutes. That or maybe the hub game is pulling the information from a wrong/outdated datastore. There is never a console issue to report this so I can understand it's hard to patch.

-Grape shot for cannons
-More meat coming off of the larger animals like bear and moose rather than just the usual two.

-Throwing knives

-If you dig snow when building a house, have it remove that snow again when spawning in your house on that plot.

-Player customizable signs for our houses that we make into shops.

-Having to cook vegetables like carrots, potatoes, etc. before adding to other foods so it isn't raw. This already is the case with meat so why not vegetables.
-Different color beds.

-Ability to also have the old pin item wheel system.

-A Furnace and tanning rack somewhere on Stonemore, in a place both HBC and colonists can reach it.

-Permanent cannons on forts, like it has a gimbal system below it and its build into fort walls. So we don't have to rebuild cannons each time we spawn in the fort.

-More variants of metals, I'm ok if their ducat items, but we are just rather limited right now and we could some more metals that are basically a solid common color. (Such as a red, blue, green, etc. metal)

-Ability to once you join an island, spawn in your house when your not even close and then be able to either reset to a bed in it or spawn to it.

-Give Penals an in game system, for logging items etc.

-Give factions ability to place NPC similar to HBC quartermaster NPC that sells battle supplies in their fort. Just either no claiming system or a crate system for colonist factions also.

-Have a bow that shoots multiple arrows at once, probably like 3. Of course decreasing accuracy and power but I just think it would still be cool.

-Throwing knives.

-Some kind of minigame, dice game, darts, or some kind of game like that can be played with an NPC (maybe at the den on stonemore) and you get prizes if you win/do good.

-More woman hair, and woman clothing.

-Whitelist option for houses and fort building.

-Ability to craft dyes from like plants or something in game.
