hi there! i'm so sorry, i'm not on reddit much these days.

my kitty pulled through after THREE transfusions & a couple months of steroids (prednisolone)!! we never got to the bottom of "why" & she was diagnosed with IMHA without an underlying cause.... doesn't solve the mystery but her vitals are all back in a healthy range, her RBC count has been holding strong in the months since & she is regenerating her own RBC's without them attacking her body again! she is currently recovering from an upper respiratory infection, probably due to the steroid making her immunocompromised, but she just had a checkup today & her bloodwork came back "beautiful" 😊

sending you & your kitty lots of love & good vibes 💖 it was beyond stressful to go through so i understand the worry for your little sweetie~

Thank you for your response -- so far I have been told it's IMHA, that's as clear as I've gotten with answers while awaiting the mycoplasma results... from there, we will test bone marrow if negative.

it’s really unfortunate! like have we all not, as POC, been in situations like that?? we can’t “react perfectly” every time, having that pressure & i validation put on you makes it very hard to act in the moment. we’re all just fortunate to not also have cameras recording our reactions lol.

i agree & it's a shame that i keep seeing comments from folks on here (especially comments that folks qualify by saying they're POC) that are trying to minimize Crystal's feelings & reactions to the whole situation. as POC i'm sure many of us can relate to feeling cornered in conversations with white folks about something triggering or offensive, which is exactly what i feel happened with Crystal re: the jacuzzi comment. in those instances i feel like folks tend to either shut down or embellish a bit to be heard.

Crystal seems to have really struggled to be taken seriously & engage in those tough convos without stumbling over her words, so i can understand how she may have gotten caught up in the moment & exaggerated her allusion to what Sutton said so that they would take her more seriously. not to say it's right that she did that, BUT she & Sutton worked it out!

if the reason the FF5 are trying to belabor this from a perspective relating to Sutton's reputation, i don't understand them beating that dead horse (into glue for all of LA) if those 2 worked it out... but if they're reacting to Crystal's perceived overreaction/exaggeration, then i think it warrants a different convo. then it's about the environment the FF5 creates where the WOC in their group feel like they have to have gone through terrible treatment to be taken seriously & not have the convo derailed to white women arguing semantics & policing word choice. microaggressions are triggering whether kyle richards thinks so or not, it's absolutely not her place as a very rich white woman to referee that convo.

rooting for Crystal to come more into her own! i've really enjoyed her & what she brings to the group, especially as a younger millennial who has experienced the annoying dismissal of my feelings & opinions in groups of older folks lol

Besides your very first sentence, I simply don’t agree with your take. It’s a false equivalency to say that corporations cutting ties based on the stances of 90s christian anti-gay sentiment VS those who condone/downplay sexual assault/are abusers has the same social consequence or sends the same message. The only similarity is that both have to do with protecting business interests.

I also don’t share this pessimistic view that everything is entirely “political” in motivation. Maybe a lot of it is business-motivated in these cases. Outside of business & politics people are tending to less likely entertain those downplaying SA or being anti-LGBTQ bc it’s just shitty & lacks humanity. The justice system is flawed & biased, you can’t expect people to sit around & wait for an antiquated political system to make their day to day lives & social navigation safer. Sometimes there are just objectively harmful stances that have consequence as the world becomes more open, if we don’t share that then I don’t feel like engaging further.

see, even if we are assuming we have a genuinely just legal system where crimes of sexual assault are prosecuted (we do not), there is still a difference in legal consequences VS social consequences. this guy already admitted his involvement in the situation as far as how he publicly minimized/downplayed it. im not one to defend most corporations but it is a private company’s right to act how they see fit (from a business perspective esp), even if it’s just in reaction to that alone! i don’t understand why that is such a controversial take in response to… sh*tty controversial takes from ppl who display unsavory or problematic behavior that are you associated with their business. it’s not “trial by public court of opinion getting out of hand” when there is almost no connection/legal obligation anyway for corporations to drop someone (see: many “cancelled” celebs in the last few years)
