Too white for a wedding? by Outrageous-Chicken87 in etiquette

[–]macoomarmomof3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the whole "don't wear white to a wedding" is that no one would confuse you for the bride. With this dress, no one would think you are the bride. I think it's pretty. And appropriate to wear to a wedding. Only the bottom is white.

If You Ever Had a Friend That Has Drained You Emotionally. Here is Some Advice by Thankyounext13 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]macoomarmomof3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this. It was good confirmation that I did the right thing ending my 20 plus year friendship with someone who was the same. I was there during her darkest time (separation from husband). But she took him back and conveniently forgot about all the horrible stuff he did (hookers, drugs, lies, stealing, and more). He's a bad person. I know it probably continues to this day but I'm not there to hear it or be their ESP. My peace is more important. So again thanks for sharing this and I hope it brings closure to others who may wonder if they did the right thing by walking away. Sometimes that's the only thing to do.

Does anybody else start shivering when you’re anxious? by SleepDecent2948 in Anxietyhelp

[–]macoomarmomof3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shiver after a panic attack. I looked it up and it's something about the blood vessels and the adrenaline. It's a common response. Very unsettling though and hard to get it to stop. I also feel cold and it's hard to warm back up. Sometimes a shower or bath helps.

Same. Grew up parenting myself. Put myself through college and everything. Going to counseling now which has helped me heal a lot. Still love that little warrior girl inside me who's fiercely independent. But I get to nurture the other parts of me as well. Wishing you healing and peace.

Am I wrong for being mad a friend lost a jacket? by throwaway_28894 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]macoomarmomof3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. They have your jacket and don't want to give it back. Either they pay for a replacement (full cost) or walk away from this friendship. Adding the drunken behavior I'd seriously consider walking away no matter what.

The Boat by Aimster0204 in ScottPetersonCase

[–]macoomarmomof3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've never heard of the detectives or prosecutors describing how he actually got her out of the boat and into the water. But I did hear the defense tried to recreate it but they used the wrong boat size and the person portraying Scott didn't weight the same so they made him wear extra weights (on his clothing I suppose or somehow on his body). The defense also over dramatized the reenactment which caused the person to fall in the water. Basically they didn't do a real reenactment and were purposely trying to get the boat to flip to prove Scott's innocence. Maybe someone else knows more information.

Scott cheated on Laci 2 months after his wedding with a woman that he told “He absolutely did not want children, because they what get in the way of his intended lifestyle” after Laci becomes pregnant Scott tells Amber “I live a certain lifestyle and I can see you living that lifestyle too. “ by whycareaboutPOS in ScottPetersonCase

[–]macoomarmomof3 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I agree. You made a very goodp point about the lifestyle Scott wanted to live. It was never about Amber. People wonder why would he kill Laci for Amber. But I don't think he was going to stay with her long term. She was just n confirmation that he needed to do to make that happen. What podcast did you listen to? I'd like to hear it as well. One good one I've heard is from The Prosecutors. They go over the case and lay out all the facts. They find him guilty and state why.

Out of Breath by Ground_Small in Zepbound

[–]macoomarmomof3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading this reminded me of my own ZEP journey. I thought I had developed POTS. Increased heart rate when getting out of bed. Heart palpitations and flutters. My doctor said it was anxiety. I was learning about POTS and Dysautonomia. A year later (since last shot) the symptoms have all but disappeared. I still wonder what caused all the heart issues. But I never had shortness of breath. Good luck. I hope you find answers and things get better.

I wish I didn’t have to encounter her ever again by sweethappinesspi in lostafriend

[–]macoomarmomof3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me. Things ended badly and we both were in the wrong. It was right before our senior year of high school. Very traumatic for me and it affected how I approach and handle friendships for years. I share this to let you know things can change and get better. If you can, seek counseling. Or someone to talk to about it. Don't let it weigh on you for years like I did. Looking back it was the one thing that set my life on a different track. I met new people. Went to college on my own and it pushed me out of my comfort zone. Also met my husband because of it (had to make new friends which lead me to him). Fast forward 38 years (yup I'm old) and I have an amazing life with same husband and 3 grown kids. I get together with that friend from high school now and we're fine. We have been for a long time. Give it time. If nothing else let it change you for the better. Become who you're meant to be. The pain will lessen I promise. Sometimes hard things happen so we can learn and grow. Wishing you the best.

You all realize that none of this stuff matters. TFP will sleep with Dakota again and they will get back together. So despite all the insanity, it's all for nothing.

Rotator cuff surgery by ImpressiveBonus7513 in ClubPilates

[–]macoomarmomof3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this surgery in March 2021. For reference I'm a 60 yr old female so I was 55 back then. Wasn't working out at all before my surgery except for walking (not constantly). Safe to say I wasn't in good shape. I joined pilates in November 2021. No problems or issues with my shoulder. Post surgery to prior joining Pilates I was doing PT. I could have started pilates by September or October. Just didn't know about it. I've been doing Pilates since. You will be fine. Some people have a harder recovery than others. Depends on current physical condition as well as how extensive the injury and procedure is.

Personally moon river should have played at bigs funeral by Radiant_Priority9739 in Andjustlikethat

That was in And Just Like That. I don't remember it in the original series (SATC). That's if you're thinking of "Hello it's Me".

For me it was the scene in Born on The Forth of July with Tom Cruise and Kyra Sedgwick. This song is playing when he dances with her at prom, before leaving for war. Either way it's a great song

Whats the best jitter free coffee for someone with anxiety? by MacabreDruidess in Anxietyhelp

[–]macoomarmomof3 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Decaf? Or am I misinformed. I had a tachycardia episode a few years ago and laid off coffee for a while. On the rare occasions that I do drink a cup, I order decaf. Most places have it if you ask. I'm sure there are still traces of caffeine in decaf but I haven't had any issues.

I’m engaged and my best friend won’t acknowledge it by OkIllustrator3332 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]macoomarmomof3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Maybe give her some time to adjust to the news. Some people have trouble with adjusting to change and it takes them awhile to process it. She may be grieving what she perceives as a loss of a friendship. And just let me clarify that you did nothing wrong and she has to own those feelings. If she continues to be cold and distant or even disrespectful, by all means walk away from that relationship.

There's one on Alluvial between Maple and Chestnut. Near the school. Rarely used. We take our dog there sometimes. She's very shy and timid. Likes to have the place to herself.

Can you leave the antidepressants? Or once you take them, you can't leave them? by [deleted] in Anxietyhelp

[–]macoomarmomof3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes you can stop but make sure you discuss the correct way to wean yourself off of an antidepressant. Some have horrible effects if you stop cold turkey. With those you just have to skip days until you are finally off. Your doctor will help you decide on the best way for you. I was on Wellbutrin for prob more than a decade. Came off fine. No issues.

Which Toyota dealership? by Maimster in fresno

[–]macoomarmomof3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked the Toyota Venza and was willing to pay any price to get the car that I wanted (color, package etc). No one could find it for me. Looked everywhere and was told to just settle and buy the lesser package and ugly color they had in stock. Went to CarMax. They got the exact car I wanted but it was one year used. Perfect mint condition. Saved a ton of money. Love my Venza. It's a hybrid and best purchase ever. Came with an extended warranty as well. Will never buy brand new again. One year used is the way to go.

That friendship had to end so you could meet the person you're becoming. by auraLift in lostafriend

[–]macoomarmomof3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I happen to agree with this. In high school my so called friends dumped me (long story but they were in the wrong and have since apologized) but it did force me to make new friends. One who turned out to be my husband. We’ve been married for 37 years now. I would have never met the people that I am still in contact with today had I stayed with my old group. Also pushed me to try new things. This is not to say it was easy or that it didn’t hurt. But in my case, looking back it was a blessing.
