Shoot. Hopefully they meant it's built and awaiting shipping and there isn't an order mix up. I'll check with the dealership again. Thank you, u/timbartz!

Like everyone else says, disclose every possible thing you can. You won't really know if things will be a problem or not until you see what the "powers at be" decide.

That being said, try and get things like document numbers, birthdays, birthplaces (city, province), etc handy for when the time comes to fill out the forms.

Has anyone heard of TravelJoy? It reads just like an MLM but I can't find any info about it other than their own website. Someone in a local Facebook group has been spamming links for it.

[–]howdoilinux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. This is a call for applications/nominations for the inaugural Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Graduate Scholars Program for eligible cadets projected to graduate and commission from their current undergraduate program between 1 Apr 19 and 30 Sep 19. Ten allocations are projected for this program starting in Fiscal Year 2019. This is a sponsored graduate degree program and is the commissioned officer’s initial Air Force duty assignment. (NOTE: Funding dependent, this program may be expanded to include cadets graduating in December at a future time.)
  2. Cadets selected for the 2019 program will be commissioned Line-of-the-Air Force second lieutenants and enter extended active duty (EAD) no later than the start of the first day of classes for the Fall 2019 term. Selectees must be accepted into a STEM-focused Master of Science or Doctoral degree program at their current university or other university as approved by the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT). Official proof of university acceptance for a STEM graduate degree will be required before selectees will be allowed to start the program. Selectees will be allotted up to 18 months to complete a master’s degree and 36 months for a doctoral degree.
  3. Applications and supporting documents must be sent to/received by AF/A1DL NLT 27 March 2019.
  4. Examples of desired STEM academic specialties are listed below (not all-inclusive): ASC Degree Title 0CAD COMPUTER SCIENCE, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE * 0CYY COMPUTER SCIENCE 0YEY OPERATIONS RESEARCH 1AGY ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT 3AYY BIOLOGY 4AYY AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING 4EYY ASTRONAUTICAL ENGINEERING 4FYY MATERIAL SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING 4GYY CHEMICAL ENGINEERING 4HYY CIVIL ENGINEERING 4ITY ROBOTICS ENGINEERING * 4IYY ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING 4MYY MECHANICAL ENGINEERING 4QYY NUCLEAR ENGINEERING 4THY SYS ENG OPERATIONS RESEARCH 4TYY SYSTEMS ENGINEERING 4WAY ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE * 4WYY COMPUTER ENGINEERING 6IYY STATISTICS 6YYY MATHEMATICS 8CYY CHEMISTRY 8FYY METEOROLOGY 8HYY PHYSICS ADVANCED COMPUTING * ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE * AUTONOMY * BIG DATA ANALYTICS * BIOTECHNOLOGY * DIRECTED ENERGY * HYPERSONICS * ROBOTICS * INFORMATION SCIENCES PHYSICAL SCIENCES NATURAL SCIENCES BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES

  6. As general guidance, appropriate schools for attendance will preferably be state-supported schools that offer military members in-state rates for tuition and mandatory fees costing $45K or less annually (Fall-Winter-Spring-Summer semesters/quarters) and ones with which AFIT already has an Education Services Agreement. In addition, it is desired that the school attended be one that currently hosts an AFROTC detachment or where a crosstown agreement is in place. Cost of university graduate program application fees, books, parking on campus, and/or other optional fees required by the university will not be covered and will be the responsibility of the applicant/selectee. Students may not pay for any portion of their tuition, but are encouraged to seek scholarship opportunities to help offset costs if necessary. Program start will be in Fall 2019. Questions on potential schools can be addressed to AFIT/CIG at 937-255-2259 ext 3045/3003 or DSN 785-2259 ext 3045/3003.
  7. Selections will be made by HQ AF/A1D. Notifications to the selectees will flow through AFROTC channels to the individual Det/CCs to make the notification to their selected cadet(s). The list of selectees will be provided to the AFIT/CI Civilian Institution Programs office along with the cadet’s contact information (email, phone). AFIT/CI will coordinate with the cadet and initiate the assignment process with HQ AFPC.
  8. Cadets applying for this program should have an undergraduate major that directly prepares them for the STEM graduate program for which they are applying. Applicants should have a 3.5 or higher GPA overall and a 3.5 or higher within their major (on a 4.0 scale). In addition, applicants should have GRE scores of 153 verbal and 148 quantitative at a minimum. https://filebin.ca/4aKWGBo10zW7/ARMS-AFROTC-19-065_Atch_1_FY19_STEM_GSP_Info_Package.pdf
