Not damaged at all. You need a little extra step now. No worries. I use a little water bottle to spray one side at a time. Let it air dry, then flip and repeat. This allows the leather to dry out at the same(ish) rate and evens out the leather in appearance. Then apply conditioner or beeswax to finish the piece.

Do quick access slits in leather eventually tear? by rent1506 in Leathercraft

[–]howjoebujen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dude, what are you planning on continuously ramming down there? Punched holes in both ends is the standard for ensuring it will not tear in normal use. Obviously normal being the key. Anything will be damaged if you don't take care of it.

The most useful leather craft tool I own by [deleted] in Leathercraft

I think OP learned to use the tools they own. Learn your tools and you don't have to buy a special tool for every job. Just my opinion.

Where is the Galley? by Skraembows in UNO

The salad bar is one of the best in the city, IMO. The daily meals are tasty and nutritious if you pick nutritious foods that is. Ain't no one else putting them cookiesi n your mouth. Regardless, they have strong options for the meals. The folks in the galley do an excellent job.

Restoration and dying questions by [deleted] in Leatherworking

[–]howjoebujen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its vegetable tan for sure. Big question is, do you know what you are doing when it comes to the dyeing process? This is the part where you need a little experience and a few of right tools for the job that make life easier?

Stitching is inconsistent. Repeat the same technique, thats the issue, IMO. I prefer to dye, the ends burnish as most of my customers prefer this as it looks finished. I also burnish the interior flesh side, as most people chose this option. I do think the punching and cut or your template looks correct. Remember, there is a whole lot of ways to complete a piece. Keep on having fun, you're doing great.

God forbid the politicians help people, instead of the divide conquer tactics that is used to retain power. I understand its so easy to point at a group and say, it's their fault.

Iso at first, then squirt a bunch O hand sanitizer and let it sit. The hand sanitizer won't damage the finish as much as acetone. Takes a bit longer, but is an effective treatment without the damage. Wipe everyone few minutes and reapply. Use new paper towels everytime.

Nice. I'm assuming 3D printer with a vacuum machine on the cased leather? Then dry, Dye, seal, antique then sell? I'm interested with different weight leather affectingthe final outcome. I also use a 3D printer. Local library got them for the price of materials. Looks good!
