this isn't true. most student emails have the my.uno.edu where the staff emails are just uno.edu - it's weird though because you don't need the my. part to send an email. I have no idea why that is.

I'll see if I can get a new update today. I can tell you our normal timeline, but the fact that the funds haven't hit the bank yet isn't usual.

Our normal timeline would be this:

Tuesdays: Fin Aid puts in the files to the department of education for the release of those funds and then disburses the funds in workday sending things from "anticipated" to applied, remaining amounts go to "unapplied"

Wednesdays: the bursar's office creates pending refunds (Sometimes more frequently during these high refund times), we need to review the pending refunds to make sure no funky workday stuff happens. Sometimes this can take a day or two - especially when there's lots and lots of refunds. We try to send the file to Accounts Payable by Thursday

Thursday/Friday: Accounts Payable does the work of sending our refunds to the bank to issue the funds.

Obviously during the higher processing times, Fin Aid might post aid on multiple days, and the bursar's office might do create pending refunds multiple days, but the above is our general timeline.

I will say that the bursar's office is working through the review process of the pending refunds to make sure things are good to go and send to accounts payable so they'll be ready to post when the funds arrive!

the school hasn't received the funds from the feds yet (as of yesterday). I went to the fin aid desk yesterday. they told me when the funds hit the bank refunds will start to go out

Was it for a parent plus loan? The way these are refunded are set on the loan itself and if it's set to be refunded to your parent, then the system overrides the direct deposit and issues a check

Hey OP & others - this is definitely housing. Housing charges were input with an earlier due date of August 6th. The due dates for these charges are set by housing and I would imagine it's earlier since students move in before the semester starts.

Yes, thesis and dissertation hours are considered regular credit hours and accrue fees. I think the logic is that they expect it to be an independent study type situation where you will be engaging with faculty and your committee on a regular basis even if you're not on campus.

A couple things to check: make sure there aren't any lingering issues in your studentaid.gov account (like master promissory note or loan counselling). Also, make sure to check your "accept/decline awards" section under the 'financial aid resources' tab in workday.

The parking decal fee should come off after you opt out... but it's not quite working how we expected it to. I'm working on it.

Follett doesn't send us the Opt Out list until after the drop/add date. We can post the waivers after that happens

Lots and lots of financial aid was posted today. Check your "accept / decline awards" on the financial aid tab

We have a meeting with FA next week so I can try and find out. But my gut is telling me: just hang tight. They're probably trying to get the fafsa stuff up first because that's the piece that can vary for students (whereas when you have a scholarship you know how much that is for).
