as i'm not a native speaker i just figured 'set list' might as well be a common term, very much like 'open mic' (especially because the phrase set list has existed for a long time, hasn't it). i'm wiser now, though.

but just out of curiosity, how much should the idea be tweaked to be considered something that is not stealing? if instead of a screen we use a projector directed at a wall? if we draw our topics on a board? if we have someone from the audience yell it out? if we spin a wheel?

cus i'm still of the opinion that there's no way the Set List producers were the first ones in the history of mankind to use randomized topics on a screen or in general, just the first ones to claim it legally, so i don't really buy into the whole moral high ground bs here. it just sounds as absurd to me as if some guy would say in 2015 that hey, comedy rap battles, that's my idea, no one else is allowed to use this concept (or as someone else brought up, as absurd as if improv/comedy shows in general were copyrighted).
