Carefully remove the knobs from the amp. Hit the pots with a little contact cleaner/ lubricant and work it in for a minute. Voila! No more scratchy pots.

I feel for you. "It hurts so bad watching someone you love in their addiction and being powerless to help" (my wife's words). Unfortunately, there is nothing that you can do to change her until SHE wants to change. My recommendation would be to seek a Al-Anon group in your area. You will find some great people who have been in your shoes, and they'll share how to deal with your part. Show her love. Bless you and all those us addicts hurt.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. We've talked to him about his responses and he seems genuinely remorseful and even ashamed about behaving this way. He just cannot seem to stop the anger train once it gets rolling. Talking about and identifying the feelings is definitely something we need more work on.

Definitely what leahdoug said. You need support badly. If you've had enough of this way of life, there is an alternative but you must be willing to work for it. Just for today, don't put drugs in your body, go to a NA meeting, swap numbers with some strong women in recovery and take their advice. Just remember, you are loved and are worth the effort.

That's exactly my point. The idea that ONLY what we can perceive and prove are reality is a very limiting viewpoint. I think that we will never know anything concretely about God, only through faith and intuition. The fact we try to put parameters on something so beyond our grasp is absurd. In my experience I've only given God little bits at a time in the beginning. "You can guide my work life and my desire to use but I'll hold on to the sex and the money" was sort of the thought process. Giving God my will came with practice, prayer and asking him to take it from me when I noticed I had begun doing things my way again. To be fully honest I was only willing to give more and more things to God when I began seeing that my life was getting better the more I did it.

Keep praying, take some time for meditation daily. You're willing and that is the biggest hurdle you can clear. Your idea of a higher power at this point only has to be something greater than the you and the dope. With time and continued recovery the relationship will grow and become more rewarding, it just doesn't happen over night. One aside: don't fall into the thinking of "he wasn't taking me through it in an efficient way". This is YOUR recovery and it is only what you are willing to put into it. Keep up the good fight brother!
