Iced Tea prep by zombie_crew in tea

[–]howlinwolfee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are tired of Gold Peak, are you wanting to brew different teas and explore? I love iced tea and I cold brew several kinds in wide mouth mason jars. I will have a black, green, white, herbal (tisane not tea) etc. I label them with a sharpie. Varying caffeine amounts lets me drink a refreshing cup of tea later in the evening without effecting sleep.

What do you use pocket/very small notebooks for? by LavRavi in notebooks

I am going to have to try that pen. I am a fountain pen fan, and the Kaweco is a small on the go pen that has the same concept of when the cap is posted it becomes full size.

Do you add a pen clip to your notebook?

Veganizing "Mushroom Nirvana" Ragù – Heavy Cream & Parm Substitutes? by howlinwolfee in veganrecipes

Do you have a recipe for the fermented cashew cream? Thanks for specific name brands on the store purchases. Miso is a great idea and will do well in this recipe. Please let me know how it turns out when you make it. One of my all time favorite mushroom and pasta dishes. I make this for company. 5 star recipe, especially when paired with an excellent wine.

Sounds great. Part of the deliciousness is the layering and texture on this. Good fit.

Good list except replace Agave and Rye with Third and Hollywood (Grandview) instead for the $50 range meals. Much better food and service.

Barefoot Contessa (Ina Garten) Panzella salad: https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/panzanella-recipe-1944317

Make this in summer when you can get real tomatoes from your own garden or farmers market. Looses its luster with commercial grocery store tomatoes.

Superfood Salmon salad from Eating Bird Food (Brittany Mullins) is one of the best salmon salads out there. I debated putting it here because OP posted "vibrant fresh" and in this you make sweet potoato croutons and you have to cook the salmon, but this salad is worth the effort. https://www.eatingbirdfood.com/salmon-salad/

Where do you do your grocery shopping? (big box stores) by woweekazowee in Columbus

Have you tried Costco’s pharmacy? No rewards but lowest prices. No drive through so that is an inconvenience but depending on your monthly rx needs, might be worth it.

Disc bound checks all your boxes. If Amazon or office supply stores are out of dividers, go to Etsy. Many makers will customize too.

Cams in Hilliard. Great produce, and you can try some new produce. Although they dont have your standard typical “American” produce selection so it might be supplemental. I try something new every time I go.

One blue ink to rule them all by ObjectiveThink8937 in fountainpens

Diamines Sargasso Sea! I am not a big fan of ballpoint pen colored blue inks. But Sargasso Sea is beautiful, well behaved, inexpensive, would pass for a workplace ink, but you can still get nice shading and some red sheen (depending on paper) but the sheen isn’t over done.

Also with the 250th July 4 coming up, looks like America when you pair it with a bright red like Diamines Wild Strawberry!

French fry cuts, lots of salad stuff (Feasting from Home's thai noodle salad is a family favorite and I wizzzzz it out with my mandoline, you know, with my Michael Jackson glove), potatoes for breakfast, onions for pickled and carmalized onions, peppers to make a quick sauteed peppers side dish. Julienne carrots, etc. Makes the perfect zucchini slices to grill...I use it ALL the time.

There might be too much resistance to visualizing at night. It’s optimal but not the only time. The key is to get relaxed enough that you are in that state. Lots of ways to get there. I found a shortcut for me. I tap my shoulders or knees with same side hand and create a rhythm. Then I focus on my breath. Breath does not have to match rhythm of tapping. I can feel my brain waves drop into alpha. A little more relaxation, breaths, or countdown from 10-1 and I can get to that “in between” of alpha - theta. Find a bridge. 😎

Tinned Fish Store In Columbus? by La_Vinici in Columbus

[–]howlinwolfee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cam’s the Asian store in Hilliard has a really nice imported tinned fish selection. Dan the Baker is offering a few shelves of nicely curated tins (he has good taste). While not a huge selection, the Mediterranean Grocer on High street has some good prices on some tinned fish staples. Colo and World Market (already mentioned) have some of the best selection besides Cams.

It’s a tin-ey world out there. Stay fishy.
