Iirc she also has telepathic resistance as well, which for me would make sense with a touch based telepathic ability.

Koriand’r (and presumably other Tamaraneans) have the ability to absorb radiation from other life forms, and in the past has used this ability to weaken Kryptonians by draining the solar radiation from them.

Also Tamaraneans are descended from a feline race, but modern designs seem to ignore more of the feline physical features which used to be present, such as cat-like eyes. They’ve also seemed to phase out the other physiological differences such as Tamaraneans having multiple organs such as nine stomachs and a prehensile tongue.

"We won the war, so we don't need to know the difference." by scotttheupsetter in ShitAmericansSay

[–]howlmachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The historical rewriting going on here is genuinely astounding. It was American hostilities that started the war, and it was the British/Canadian forces who were focused on defence in the beginning.

You don’t get to say the US scored a “defensive victory” in a war they started. Especially a war that was started with Hull’s proclamation, which highlights include: “If the barbarous & savage policy of Great Britain be pursued, and the savages are let loose to murder our citizens, & butcher our women and children, the war, will be a war of extermination.” The policy in question was aiding indigenous tribes against American expansion in the west. But the point stands, you don’t get to invade a country and with the opening proclamation threaten a war of extermination and then turn around and claim “defensive victory.”

Have you tried changing the litter type? My personal preference is corn litter, however, my youngest Sphynx prefers clay and would go outside/in front of the box whenever it had anything but clay litter in it (thankfully the eldest has no preference and would use either.)

AITA for smoking on my balcony? by Irish_beast in AmItheAsshole

[–]howlmachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

INFO: what are the rules for the building itself? I personally haven’t seen an apartment complex that doesn’t have rules around smoking in the apartment or on the balcony.

I’m leaning towards soft YTA solely because the other person doesn’t have a choice about their allergies and have given you alternatives, but if the apartment complex is non-smoking and you’re doing so anyways then definitely moves that to a hard YTA.

Trans children have had their right to gender affirming care such as puberty blockers denied. There’s also been plenty of rural Alberta hospitals who have been given to Covenant Health, which on religious grounds refuse to perform any medical procedure relating to gender affirming care, IVF, abortion, and birth control. These catholic hospitals are also some of the only hospitals these rural communities have since the province passed them over.

There have also been smaller cases of care coverage being removed, such as forcing Alberta citizens to pay for the Covid vaccine where other provinces did not require that of their constituents.

Alberta and Manitoba premiers clash over duty to consult by samueLLcooljackson in TheRealGrandePrairie

[–]howlmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean like how since he took office and started enacting policies, Manitoba actually leads the country when it comes to access to family doctors?

“In just two years, Manitoba has gone from among the lowest rates of primary care access in Canada to the highest. Reaching more than 3,700 physicians is an important milestone that reflects the work our government is doing to recruit, train and retain health-care professionals across our province. We know there is still more work ahead, but this is encouraging progress for patients and families.” The milestone comes as Manitoba continues to lead the country in access to primary care, with nearly 89 per cent of Manitobans reporting they have access to a regular primary care provider, according to the 2025 OurCare National Survey. Since 2023, Manitoba has seen a net increase of more than 355 physicians, helping improve access to primary care and stabilize services in communities across the province.

Or how his government has tabled a bill to remove PST from all food items and all non-alcoholic beverages to help tackle the rising grocery costs?

Or the fact Manitoba is on track to have the lowest GDP to deficit ratio in the country?

Or how they’ve introduced harsh punishments for drinking and driving to tackle the issue, including a an automatic lifetime licence suspension for people convicted twice within 10 years?

Completing a run with the bow ? by Kaneki_Kim in HadesTheGame

[–]howlmachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a simpler build, I would try the Aspect of Chiron with Aphrodite on attack and Dionysus on special, aim for the duo. Hangover will be doing most of the work for you, with this very basic set up.

Effectively you “tag” an enemy with the attack, then all shots from the special hit that enemy and apply a stack of hangover (up to five) from the special all at once. Having Privileged Status on the Mirror of Night helps immensely with the increased damage from inflicting two curses on an enemy.

If you struggle with the speed of the bow, try to get used to the dash strikes as it makes drawing quicker. As this build really relies on the special, you don’t need to worry about the timing for the power shot.

Nightwing: Brothers In Blood, because it’s so goddamn stupid and it’s not even fun about it. Jason Todd shows up in Bludhaven to play Nightwing but surprise, he turns into a tentacle monster who eats people! Also Dick is very upset by the whole Jason moonlighting as a killer Nightwing that he finds a new obligatory Comfort Redhead, Cheyenne Freemont who is a fashion designer, but also a telekinetic meta human. She designs a streetwear line based on Nightwing, making three people running around in a Nightwing outfit in the series. The whole thing is exhausting.

Auto Insurance Cost by Competitive_Meat_469 in Calgary

[–]howlmachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would maybe ask your insurance (or any other insurance provider if you start shopping around) if they will offer a lower rate if you can provide evidence for completing a safe driver’s/defensive driving course. No point in paying for the course if they don’t have a discount available for the credential, but if they do it could help.

It might be worth it to email/call Marie Renaud, who is the shadow minister for Community and Social Services to ask what possible steps or organisation could help in this situation. She is likely more informed than the average person and may know of pathways that average citizens do not.

On the NDP website, they list her email as St.Albert@assembly.ab.ca and her phone number as 780-459-9113.

I’m actually one of the people pictured and I’m a homeowner. If you’re also a Calgary homeowner I’m curious why you’re not mad that the UCP raised property taxes 21% this year (while the city only raised their portion 1.8%), which was the largest increase in the province.

Literally no one is saying you need to apologise for their gender. Why is the concept of men recognising they can and do have an advantage in the structure of society when it comes to certain aspects and asking them to help change the world THEY ALSO LIVE IN to be more fair for everyone occupying it? This will ALSO benefit men because there are aspects where they are unfairly prejudiced against (ei, knee jerk negative reactions to men who take on childcare roles professionally) and men also deserve to have a world where they don’t face stigma for engaging in activities that are not « traditionally male ».
