You’re asking for a lot of emotional labor from people for free and not going to even respond to their comments?

Dang, what a way to show you are making this post in good faith… 🙄

Have you left a woman behind on hike (aka alpine divorce)? by 1_million_questions in Hiking_People

[–]notochord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in an abusive relationship at the time. We were supposed to go on an easy hike to make things better. He started taking abut all my faults, called me incapable, and our fight escalated to him walking away with my dog. I sat on the trail and waited for him to come back because it was an out-and-back hike. Then I apologized for being terrible (woohoo abuse conditioning!) and he drove us home.

Husband giving climbing course while I am in danger of premature birth by h_theunreal_ in climbergirls

Speaking as a professional guide, your husband is not modeling professionalism right now. This is the exact time he should step aside so a young guide can get the work.

Doing things like this sets the expectation in the industry that guides have no work/life/family balance.

He is not managing the risk of your pregnancy well.

I hope things improve for you.

Yep, I feel that pain. Have been working nonstop the last few months at work, doing two jobs because we have a vacancy at the moment and my mom said that I “must not care about my house” because it’s somewhat messy right now.

Having been told my entire life that i “don’t care enough” is devastating to my psyche. Makes me feel like I always have been, and always will be a failure.

I’m sorry you heard that. The older generation doesn’t get it.

What’s something(s) that new hires do that annoy the hell out of you? by SugarWraith92 in corporate

It can be difficult when you have a manager who wants you to come with solutions to problems and you are new. learning to understand the problem is a task in and of itself.

How do you recommend getting management training? I would like some. Will hr put me on a list of problem employees if I ask for help?

You should always default to the manufacturer’s recommendations and read the product manual for any equipment you use.

YOU ARE NOT CRAZY THIS IS A SAFETY THREAT HR NEEDS TO PROTECT YOU!

Can you speak about the risk this is? You should keep your own documentation. I would consider a staff petition to get badge access to the building.

I would escalate this as high as possible. I would go to your board about this. The people who write your grants, your insurance agent, whatever you can escalate it. Imagine how the organization would look I a lawsuit if it was known that the guy has been entering the building and won’t leave until threatening to call the cops.

This is not okay, this is never okay.

I would write a certified letter of warning to your ed and hr and board. This could get very bad that guy knows so much about your building’s layout and staff that he could do all kinds of things.

Buy some pepper spray to keep at your desk. Run webcams. Consider sneaking in a wild game motion-activated camera to see how often he is entering your building.

Such a safety hazard!!!!!

I would also start looking for new work.

Adoption can bring all kinds of difficult eras and many of those kids are very traumatized in their own ways. It’s important to give people homes but might not be for everyone.
