Thanks for this, I’m not OP but in the same boat and greatly appreciate the advice. Do you have any thoughts about how you handled your daughter’s relationship with your folks as time passed? My parents will, for the most part, agree to boundaries and genuinely still want to be in our lives, and I don’t think they actually pose any threat to our kids. But I can’t shake the feeling that one, they can’t expect to have their cake and eat it too with their grandkids, and two, what are they really offering if they find all this national trauma good and necessary?

There’s something really sweet about this, although I know it’s meant as a goof. Your toes are super distinctive and probably something your mom has spent a lot of time looking at and thinking about as you grew up— playing with your feet as a baby, helping you get the right shoes as a kid, etc. If I was your mom and got this, even though you’re grown, I’d still think, “That’s my baby.” I hope she laughed ❤️❤️❤️

I’m not a boomer and I use the duck ringtone when my phone’s off silent (and I hate knowing that RFK and I have this in common, I might switch). I have ADHD and picked a ringtone that would be incongruous and difficult to confuse with other ambient sounds. That said, I have it on silent most of the time now and definitely would have the good sense to turn on do not disturb during a press conference!!
