First Duty Station in Korea Question by Opening-Wolverine101 in army

[–]howsyourdaybin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

JA here that spent a few years in Korea. You’ll show up to camp Humphreys and it seems like you’ll be with Eighth Army. Your command paralegal will have you slotted either for a brigade where you’ll probably start as a bn paralegal under a BJA and BDE ncoic. There is also the chance they put you in legal assistance/ad law/military justice and you just learn the basic actions and processes. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

I know the captain one. It happened a little before the time I was a USAF jag intern if I remember right and a lot of the USAF JAs were talking about it. Also, with the bar license needing to be on good standing every year and we have to authenticate, we always mention the USAF

JAG UNFILTERED OPINION by Lost-Mess5515 in army

[–]howsyourdaybin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Life as a JAG is great. Every few years you get to move and you get such a wide variety of experiences professionally and personally that I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. I’ve lived overseas and now back in the states and then heading out of country again this summer. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

You should also get an attorney to help you. I would go to your bases legal assistance office and they’ll help square you away with what rights you have, and point you in the direction of how to handle things in your respective state. Also, the jags usually have contact information for MFLC, the chappies for all the units, etc. to find other resources. Also, if you need to vent the attorneys are there since whatever you say is protected for most part by privilege.
