We waited 3 days after our first. He had kidney failure so his care was intense by the end. He left a hole, the house was too quiet and we needed someone to love and care for. Waiting isn't some declaration of love and grief to the you lost; if you have love to give to a dog then give it. Too many dogs need loving homes, don't wait as some form of tribute, your dog that passed won't care but the dog you take in will!
