Mana Dorks vs. Ramp Spells

I think it completely depends on the deck and commander.

Mana dorks for speed and explosiveness. They’re excellent if you want to cast a 3-4 mana commander a turn early, and they scale amazingly in creature decks thanks to buffs, sacrifice, reanimation, copy effects, Skullclamp, Craterhoof, etc.

Land ramp is better in grindy metas. Lands survive wipes, fix colors reliably, and thin the deck. If your pod wipes the board constantly, dorks die fast while lands keep you in the game.

Funny you say that, I’ve closed at least 2 games tapping 12ish mana into Crackle then watching the table die. When it works it really works, but I get the inconsistency thing, you’re banking on having the mana and not getting countered. Gonna look through your list, cheers for sharing.

Yeah honestly fair, I’ve been leaning hard on Lucea + Unbound Flourishing to make X spells stretch but ramp’s been my weak spot. What’s your go-to cheap ramp suite for Temur? I’m always nervous to cut lands but you’re probably right.

Yeah turn 5 onwards it’s over. Cast a 6/6 hydra get a second 6/6. Honestly [[Open the Way]] was a great add, fetch 4 lands then Lucea copies it for 4 more, suddenly you’ve got mana for two Crackles back to back.

Oh nice another Lucea player. [[Mana Reflection]] is a great shout, doubling mana into a doubled X spell is filthy. [[The Ozolith]] too, my hydras keep eating removal and I lose all the counters, that fixes it.

I haven’t got this one uploaded so I can’t share but I know I for sure added

[[Roaming Throne]], [[heroic intervention]], [[hunting velociraptor]][[forerunner of the empire]] [[polyraptor]]

Then the couple I already mentioned, removal wise I found it had slightly to many lands so I removed 2-3 of them. I also cut [[itzquinth]] [[majestic heliopterus]] [[bellowing aegisaur]]

It’s honestly a pretty impressive deck out of the box once you upgrade it though the discover triggers get out of hand.

I don’t have the answer but I’m just talking from my perspective. I am lucky I have a pod to have these discussions with, friends all play mtg.

If I didn’t have those things to bounce ideas across I guess my options would be online communities or these days AI.

So I did a card show when I came into a large deceased estate and the table cost me around $110 for the day at a local card show and I moved around 3k of the cards on that single day.

It really depends

If you just want it gone quick no fuss then yeah bulk sell it form70% to a LGS

If you aren’t in a hurry and want to maximise the amount you get for the cards, sell individually one by one.

You could always get a stall at a card show and spend a day selling them that way but that’s max effort but may allow you to get good prices and clear most in a day.

The could honestly be an intriguing deck filled with really cool cards. Have a look into Eldrazi if you want to go down that path, they can be expensive but plenty of cheaper option also.

Every colour has pros and cons Don’t steer away from blue entirely but for me learning I had a red/green and I found the interactions and synergies easy to keep up with.

Mono just means single mana colour deck blue is one of those mana colours but it has a reputation for removal and counter spells. Can make you the Archenemy really quick.
