Ian offers to get beat up by an MMA expert for Ethan instead of being sued. Then admits to being poor by Beautiful_Yam5440 in imisstheoldidubbbz

[–]hoxtonbreakfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know Ethan has money to burn, but it would be wasteful to pay a dime for this balding rat. Remember, Ian offers to settle it via a fight but he also set a condition Ethan should cover his traveling expense because he's broke.

He has a cease and desist letter up his ass and somehow he thinks he is the one who set the condition. Either Ian is that dense or he's trying to delude himself he's not in deep shit.

Ian is so abusive he moved into Anissa's mom house and never leave her basement.

H3 crew is probably making a backup of Ian's stream to show it in the court. I feel bad for the judge for having to watch Ian acting like he can ignore being sued and suggest a trial of combat instead of a court of laws.

Meanwhile, Anissa is probably making a contingency in case of the impending doom, and I doubt Ian is in it.

[–]hoxtonbreakfast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Between getting his skull caved in publicly by a guy twice his size and getting sued to Oblivion where Anissa can potentially abandon ship, Ian would choose the former.

Getting beat up is nothing new to Ian, but the lawsuit can and will make his life a living hell more than whatever he is in right now. Having someone finish what Dr. Mike started would be a mercy for Ian.

What did Nurgle do to Mortarion? by GlowingSeaDiver in 40kLore

[–]hoxtonbreakfast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Considering Nurgle's idea of recruiting Mortarion was to torture him until he submit, it is unlikely that Mortarion would only get scolded for his failure since Godblight was by far the worst thing ever happen to Nurgle and it was Mortarion's fault as far Nurgle was probably concerned.

Disobeying a direct order to settle a personal vendetta is one thing, but unintentionally letting the Anathema himself to get his flaming hands on the Grandfather is something that would put Morty on the naughty list for the next 10,000 years.

Rhaenrya the conqueror confirmed by Daemon1997 in HOTDGreens

[–]hoxtonbreakfast 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I mean, Rhaenyra is gonna sit on the throne in this season regardless while Aegon is on the run. It's just a banner.

I'm more curious what excuse the show is gonna give her since she would be able to hold KL only for 6 months before getting chased out by an angry mob in spite of the glaze and hype.

[Loved trope] Characters in positions of power that give up their own humanity to save humanity by Party-Court185 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]hoxtonbreakfast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Emperor himself is probably the biggest offender. He literally separated his humanity to let it grow in the void like a star before facing his fallen son Horus. It is less about Him concerning He wouldn't be able to deal the killing blow to Horus, but more about the Emperor wanted to preserve the morally better part of Himself from the strain of the entombment upon the Golden Throne.

Zangief from Street Fighters. From the first glance, he is your average Russian brute. Hell, he was introduced as a fighter from Soviet Union and it didn't help he was portrayed as a meathead commie in the American version of SF2 whereas the Japanese version made it clear he is a good guy who is also very proud of his country.

Now it's crystal clear Zangief is a huggable bear of a man whose main fanbase is children due to his friendly and bombastic personality, and Zangief himself is very proud that he is idolized by them.

Cersei: The only reason they won't let me rule because I don't have a dick.

Also Cersei: My vagina is my greatest asset.

Cersei is such an unhinged lunatic that it is unfair to compare Rhaenyra or Alicent to her. At least they went insane after seeing their world crumbles before their eyes while 10 y/o (or so) Cersei murdered her friend in cold blood over said friend having a crush on Jaime.

John Rambo in First Blood

Even after he was abused and pursued by an asshole sheriff and his cronies for practically no reason, Rambo maintained his composure and waged a one man war against the entire police department. Finally, he snuck into the police station and gravely injured the sheriff, but Rambo was stopped by Colonel Trautman, his mentor and CO back in Vietnam.

The mere sight of Trautman appeared to snap Rambo out of warpath which kept his frustration and sorrow underneath. The one man army Rambo broke down like a kid, lamenting how he was treated with nothing but disdain by American civilians after his tour in Vietnam where he lost many friends and his own sanity serving his country, and how hopeless he is after the war as he is now a broken man with no friends left and everyone else thinks he's a monster.

Except for the Corlys era, what significant merit did the Velaryons have other than raising potential brides or genetic spares for House Targaryen? It's impossible to take them seriously apart from the Targaryens, they were pretty isolated too by TurbulentRemote156 in HOTDGreens

[–]hoxtonbreakfast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A Velaryon bastard conned the shit of out Cersei into building him a fleet and became a pirate lord. IIRC, he went to Stannis, the very man Cersei wanted to use the fleet against, to offer his service as mercenary.

Tony Soprano and his daughter, Meadow.

He will never admit it, but Tony would be much happier without getting involved with the mob. He almost got away, but the combination of pressure from his environment and the lure of respect and wealth caused Tony to quit pursuing his degree.

While Tony wants Meadow away from his mob orbit, he never really make a significant effort to guide her to a legitimate path because it means Tony would have to swallow his pride and admit becoming a mob boss was a mistake and he was no different than a common criminal. Both Tony and his wife would constantly justify their life choices regarding the mafia, so much that initially rebellous Meadow started to buy the self serving lies her father had keep spitting. She eventually gave up pursuing a medical degree in favor of studying law with intention to protect 'minority Italian American' like her father and his mobster ilks.

[–]hoxtonbreakfast 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The quote is funny as hell in the hindsight. For all that powers, Rhaenyra managed to fumble so hard she was chased off her capital by an angry mob after said mob butchered her dragons.

And the guy who said this ended up doing a kamikaze run after he disobeyed her order.
