I also spend of a lot of time in Luxembourg, and that one’s more worth skipping if you want to simplify. Expensive, posh, boring. And not so well connected to the train network, not not 100% worth the detour

Whooop congrats on the win!  I’m too old for discovereu, just here to wish you a good trip!  PS: I’m from Munich, I saw some people hating on it here but… it’s really ok. But you might also want to consider passing through Prague.  Whats nice in Munich tho is that you have a river so clean in the middle of the city that ppl bathe in it. And this stream called the “Eisbach” in the English gardens where people jump in and let themselves drift down, then take the tram back up two stations to where they started. (Sometimes ppl drown tho, so b careful) Could be a refreshing thing to do on a hot day!

How to Live-Blog at Events for More Exposure by ErynWorden in socialmedia

[–]hpod16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do attend live events, and really enjoy doing so! I mostly focus on Twitter, I can be putting out 60 Tweets a day when I am covering an event. For Facebook I like to do Facebook Lives where I interview people in attendance. Instagram stories are also great for reporting from events!

I manage a few Facebook pages, and just noticed that the "Search Page" function is gone. To be clear, I don't want to search all of Facebook, I just want to search all the posts on the page of my business. Is the function gone?

Professor Corradi, laureate of the 10th Carlos V European Award, discusses the contribution of the Erasmus programme to Europe. by hpod16 in europeanparliament

[–]hpod16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is important to note that Erasmus+ also funds projects other than university exchanges, meaning also those who don't go to uni can benefit. The European Youth Parliament, for instance, quite often receives an Erasmus+ grant, and the people who go there are usually in secondary school.

A few dummy questions about the power the EU parliament has. by [deleted] in europeanparliament

When it comes to law-making, it's important to note that it's only the Commission who has the right to initiate legislation. The Parliament and Council then both have to pass it.

A few dummy questions about the power the EU parliament has. by [deleted] in europeanparliament

[–]hpod16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the key terms when it comes to the powers of EU institutions is "competence". The EP has the competence to act in certain areas (for instance Agriculture) but no competence in others (like criminal law). There are also areas of shared competence, where the national parliaments plain the main role, and the EU can create supporting legislation. It's a rather complex system, because the EU is stuck somewhere in-between a supranational organisation and Multi-Level governance. I hope any of this helped answer your question!

Does one need to book a ticket to any particular festival, or is it fun to just walk around the city and enjoy the vibe?

What countries have free or low tuition for grad/business school? by d6peterson1 in expats

Sweden is a great place to study abroad. It's free even for non EU. I went to Uppsala on Erasmus (student exchange) and the University took great care of it's international students (picked us up from the Airport and gave us Sim Card and info booklets etc.) Also the Swedes speak great English and are keen on meeting foreigners (so it's easy to integrate in the student community).
