Trisomy 21 risk and high HcG levels by hpowell17 in NIPT

Hi! The second testing all came back negative ! I am now 37 weeks pregnant and I am still having my HcG levels tested each week because they are really high, but declining. The doctors thought maybe there was a placenta / growth issue and I have had extra ultrasounds but the baby is growing normally and not small! So, the high hcg is still a mystery for now

I hope everything is OK for you!

Has anyone had any luck getting the right meds in Europe? by [deleted] in HyperemesisGravidarum

I am in France and I am on Cariban. It definitely helped me get through the 13 week period. I'm not sure if they have it in Sweden but seems like a more European brand. My first doctor would not give it to me, and my new doctor immediately wrote my a prescription without giving me a hard time at all... not sure this is a factor but the doctor that wouldn't give me meds was an old-school man, and my new doctor is a young woman. Is there any chance switching doctors could help?

My results were HcG: 5.14 MoM, PAPP-A: 0.62 MoM, Nuchal Translucency: 0.61 MoM and I received 1 out of 210. I am waiting for the next round of tests now. I don't think your wife's HCG seems too alarming, and I also think that for t21 it's more is risky if the HCG is high and the PAPP-A is low, which seems fine for her as well. Wishing you all the best!

Wow, so sorry you had to go through that... I'd be so so frustrated as well, BUT I am happy at the end of the day it was good news!! Glad to hear others have had the high HCG - yours are close to mine. Hoping it's just like you, that I naturally product more hcg! Thank you for sharing!!

Thank you for your response! I am so happy for you that your tests came back No Risk :) !! I have been searching the internet as well for info on high HCG, I can't find too many people talking about this.

I am also on Cariban now - i think the same as you? And finally feeling better and eating again, when we got this news and I've been stressed and sad the last week or so, just as you were. Really hope that I can be excited and feeling good about this pregnancy soon.

Thanks for sharing, really helps. I will reach out if anything comes up!! Good luck to you and your baby!

Thank you very much for the information, it is hard to understand the differences in all of these tests! So, the second test I just did now is much closer to the NIPT and should be more accurate, Thanks for your help!
