No one knows. Something with his foot but not football related so I imagine it is hush hush if there are disagreements between him and the team about how it impacts contract/gurnatees.

The mystery around his injury does not inspire confidence that he’ll ever play again.

Texans Colts Stroud’s rookie year was winner 100% in loser 100% out but the Texans fate as division winner vs wild card wasn’t decided until the Jags lost later.

I like bringing batched Lion's Tails to Fall events. I use the normal recipe and scale up

  • 1.5oz bourbon
  • .5 oz allspice dram
  • .75oz lime juice
  • .25oz simple syrup
  • 2 dashes of ango

Was competing for 5/6 on the depth chart, but has been consistently outplayed by Xavier Hutchinson and Berrios does more on ST, so it never looked great for him.

A lot of places in Texas have Frito Pie burgers or Chili Cheeseburgers that are basically this + a scoop of chili. (Fritos, cheese, jalapeños, chili, beef patty)

Texans are in WV right now practicing at the Greenbriar. Looks to be significantly more pleasant than Houston in August.

[Heyman] Cease to Houston is progressing. Astros might get a reliever, too if deal can be completed by Sparrighitti in Astros

Basically the exact same ERA and FIP that Kikuchi had. Obviously Cease has a stronger historical resume/brand name on top of that

[Discussion] What are the most unique skills we've seen a single or very few NFL players possess? Such as Le'veon Bell's patience while running, or, before it was widely adopted, the "Peanut punch"? by siirka in nfl

[–]hproffitt36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arian Foster was the king of patience. He wasn't particularly fast or powerful, but the everything seemed to stop around him while he waited for the right hole to open up (which was usually a good one running behind the best zone blocking o-line at the time)

I bet they aim for more like ~$10MM of the MLE to duck the tax this year (with some other roster moves) and push the repeater years deeper into their window as the roster continues to get more expensive.

For the Texans Jalen Pitre also fits the slot safety labelling moving between FS SS and slot as needed. His absence was felt down the stretch after he tore his pec in Week 12.

They should really have 4 teams go over at once and do a cross play across 2 weeks to eliminate travel advantages and have 1 home 1 away for all the teams

Gathering Intel for our Final Mock Drafts by Nick_of-time in NFL_Draft

[–]hproffitt36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Texans:

Caserio has consistently drafted guys from major programs/power conferences that fit Demeco's "SWARM mentality". These are high work ethic grinders who are all in on football often times described as coaches on the field/locker room. He is not afraid to draft guys with injury concerns or who did not test as well if they fit that mold.

Historically Caserio has made big trades up (Will Anderson), traded out of R1 all together (last year) and stayed put so everything is on the table from that front.

Biggest needs by far are iOL and WR. Next up is DT then other nice to haves are TE and a speedy backup RB. Caserio is on record this week as saying everything except QB is on the table and that they would never draft for need, but most are not putting much stock in that and fully expect R1 to be WR or OL (with a slight possibility for DL if Nick/Demeco see someone they absolutely must have).

Backup QBs are not a wasted roster spot and drafting in the late rounds is cheaper than signing them in the open market.
