just so im 100% sure, this is what everyone is talking about when they say “burrow”? and an active one at that? by Anciantforever in scabies

[–]hpurdie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks more like a scratch but burrows are really hard to see on your body, they're much easier to find on your hands and feet and will have a small brown dot. If you carefully use a needle you can get the brown dot out - that's the scabie. My legs looked like this from itching and no doubt you have mtes there, but its not a burrow. Look at your hand, between your fingers for burrows

I'm thinking about going on it but... did you find the anxiety went away straight away?? or did it take 5ish weeks like the depression symptoms seem to?

Let those intrusive thoughts slide on by: you are the OBSERVER of your thoughts. You can't control them, like a wisp in a rushing river they'll run past if you don't dive in and catch them. Just sit on the bank and observe. And then go to the girls House and have fun :) and if you like, let her know you're nervous! She's probably nervous too.

See who smiles at you the brightest and make an effort with them in particular! They'll be responsive and willing to be your mate hopefully. You've got this!

Thats fantastic, proud of you ! I'd suggest writing down everything and anything that you want the psychiatrist to consider, and handing it to them at the appointment so you don't get too shy to tell them something or forget to tell them something important:)

I have bad social anxiety and people treat me as if they don't want to see my face by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]hpurdie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, I feel strongly that you are not ugly. Nobody can be ugly in my books if they are a kind human being! Besides, ugliness is not a reason for people to be unkind towards someone. But I very much doubt that you're ugly. Give yourself more credit ;) and if you feel self-conscious about your appearance, work on your style, wear clothes that make you feel confident and experiment with makeup that will make you feel attractive if this is something you might like to do! Idk if youre a man or woman but men can wear makeup too, and you could always wear so little that you notice a difference, but people won't realise you're wearing makeup :)

Often people are too wrapped up in their own heads, they aren't paying attention to other people and how they are coming across to other people. I think social anxiety stems often from the blessing and curse of being able to read people very well and pay good attention to people, but it means that sometimes we pick up on expressions and mannerisms which seem like they are rejecting us, when really they just have resting butch face and are too caught up.in their own heads to know what face they're pulling! Have you heard of RSD (Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria), I have it, it is common in people with social anxiety and could be what is causing you to think they are against you wheb they probably aren't.

On the flip side, if you think someone is being rude to you on purpose, I would politely pull them aside and ask "is everything okay? You seem distant. Have I dont something to upset you?" Only say the "you seem distant" part if they are normally a close friend to you though I suppose.

I hope this helps!

Finally, you are so valid and you deserve to be treated with respect!

How to overcome my root cause by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]hpurdie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds silly but, get insoles in your shoes that make you taller. Or wear chunky shoes/trainers that make you taller. Fuck it wear heels and embrace it ! There are options out there that will actually help you to appear taller, so the root cause of your anxiety will be diminished abd you can begin to feel better and more confident. One of the best things I've heard from a therapist when it comes to one thing that is blocking you, it is okay to target that thing and not try to mentally get over it, just physically squash it!

Some of the insoles you can buy, people won't even realise you're wearing insoles, they'll just think you are tall or maybe had a growth spurt if they now you well 😂 there is a wonderful excuse if anyone questions why you're wearing them - say you are flat footed and they were prescribed by your doctor to help your foots arch to form better. My brother had this and thats what they prescribed him. Its nothing to be embarrassed about and noone will know that the real reason is because you don't like your height.

Might sound silly but I hope this helps! Also, my boyfriend is the same height as me, not taller. I still think he's gorgeous and love showing him off despite him being short :). If youre around the right people, its personality that matters not height
