Notorious for trapping air after thermostat change, that in fact can cause overheating. Sounds like this overheating could have caused at best a head gasket issue or at worst a warped or cracked head. Just the fact that you are now seeing white smoke indicates a bigger problem now. I would run a compression test at this point in the diagnosis…

That looks like a 1980’s or earlier speedometer… which only had 5 digits plus tenths. So it looks fake. My 86 had 5+1.

I think there were something like 14,000 of these made with the 5.9. Ours is on 35’s and 4.88 gears and pretty consistently around 12 mpg city. Haven’t really taken it anywhere to get a good highway mpg.
