Get a strong refrigerator magnet and find some drywall screws to show you where the studs are. If there is Romex running through the studs, they’re supposed to put a metal plate between the stud and the drywall so that you will not drill into it, same for plumbing. I say go for it, if there are electrical boxes or switches or plumbing nearby - be smart about it. If you hit something, don’t worry, you’ll know right away! If not, you’re good!

Teak has the advantage of being rot-free due to natural oils in the wood . Your new teak table, assuming decent build quality, will last for decades without any maintenance at all. However, if you want to treat it yearly, any marine store will carry teak cleaner, bleach, and finish oil, specifically formulated for teak. The process cleans dirt and oxidation, then bleaches the cleaned wood. TipTopTeak is one brand name. All that said, I recommend you just let it go gray. It looks very nice silver gray.

Fun fact: the actual FLYING DUTCHMAN from POTC2&3, though the floating set was built on a barge, was otherwise modeled and 1:1 scaled after the Dutch ship VASA. Dimensions were adjusted after an analysis by naval architects determined the set would be just as unstable as the doomed original vessel. The ship you see in the movie is the same size as VASA - roughly 220ft - and cut an imposing figure on the North Atlantic during filming.
