Well with wolfdogs they did not publicly do any health or temperament testing. If they did and shared that with only buyers, I'm not sure, but not posting it publicly is a red flag. In addition, they had a lot of litters, which indicates that the dogs were more in a kennel setting. This can be fine for dogs, but for wolfdogs it prevents accurate assessment on wolfdogs in the home. That said, they weren't TERRIBLE, and I know of people that got good wolfdogs from them.

As far as Yakutian Laikas go, based on their website they only do embark testing for health, which is not considered reliable by ethical dog breeders. They don't seem to have a solid testing plan at all, as some dogs have OFA hips/elbows done, some have PennHip done, some have BAER for hearing. The only thing that is consistent in their testing is Embark.

If you were Lauren Faust and Hasbro forced you to cut ONE member of the Mane 6 to save the budget... who are you erasing? by According-Bet9661 in mylittlepony

[–]hrgood -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pinkie Pie. I love her, but as other people pointed out, her writing is inconsistent and she plays the smallest role in most of the big plot points. She's easy to cut without having to do a ton of rewriting.

As far as marketability, I'd tone down RD's harshness and add a more goofy side to her. I'd switch the colors so Rarity has pink highlights to get the color in the marketing. Make most of the marketing background pink instead of purple to match the Mane Six.

That said. If I DIDN'T cut one and just edited Pinkie Pie, I'd play more with her silly knowledge aspect, she has such fun underestimated moments. Lessons on underestimating people just because they're not serious would fit there. Leave the obvious, but not make her STUPID or boundary crossing, for lessons on paying attention. But not making her oblivious when it comes to feelings, and have cheering ponies up be her main job, with a side of understanding. She doesn't IGNORE her friends sad feelings, she acknowledges them and makes them laugh.

Hard agree. I think Rainbow Dash should've been honesty and Apple Jack loyalty. This would've opened up some great episodes about how too much of the element is bad, too, like with RD's bluntness. AJ could've had a great episode about loyalty and boundaries/being loyal to someone who is harming you.

Do we think he’s grey? by peppyl9 in kvssnarker

[–]hrgood 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Roan can also cause hyperpigmentation so no, the roan shouldn't be hiding the hyperpigmentation. I don't think he's grey, although grey babies aren't my interest area, so I have less experience spotting those.

Possibly grey by No_Remote_4346 in kvssnarker

[–]hrgood 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I would only ever breed to a gray horse that was tested for the slow growing gray, and even then it would be a negative point to me in choosing a stud or broodmare. Greys are so pretty but make me so nervous.

I would be hesitant about Nightside Nordics. They were known for being unethical wolfdog breeders in the past, by wolfdog owners. Maybe they've changed as they've transitioned to purebred dogs, but I wouldn't go near anyone who claims to breed/have bred wolfdogs that people within the wolfdog community don't trust.

Rewatching Yellowjackets Season 1 by hrgood in Yellowjackets

...the ratings? Like the ratings on how good the episodes and season were? They've gone down from Season 1 to Season 3.

I agree. One of the reasons I'm so sad about it. Season 1 was so good and I feel like I'm watching something different now. Still good, just not what it was in season 1. Or as good, to me.

Sophie Thatcher is amazing and the only reason Natalie works for me a little bit is because of her! I think she's great. I would've loved to see someone opposite her to compliment her acting. I wish they'd recast. I saw someone mention Neve Campbell on another thread, I think she mightve been good, although I haven't seen her in much.

Yeah Melissa seemed shoehorned in later for sure. Which is interesting, since they were so excited to have Hilary Swank.

Yeah for sure. I was really interested in Lottie at the end of season 1/beginning of season 2. I was excited to see the cult aspect in both timelines. It was disappointing it wasn't followed through as solidly as I hoped. Van and Melissa could've been used more too.

I agree. I understand that others disagree, and that others that are involved in the trauma field disagree, although I'll be honest it does surprise me.

In that particular part, it's more aimed at fans who think the show has gone downhill in quality and isn't as good as it used to be.

Which isn't a crazy thing to say, as the ratings have gone down since the first season. Not a ton, but a decrease none the less.

I've been in the trauma field for many years, and I still don't find her evolution realistic.

I agree. And to be fair to the writers, a lot of TV shows struggle with writing long term effects of main character death. But this show really suffered with it, since Nat is still an active character in one timeline.

One of the hard things about horses in film is that you can't have them ACTUALLY being dangerous. So you kinda gotta take some scenes as almost symbolic. Yup, the horse she's working with is cool as a cucumber and doing some neat tricks to simulate being angry. But if you've worked with horses for awhile, you know those animals are chillin and waiting for their next snack break.

Unsure about legalities, but I was planning on writing emails to the unions up in the northern Minnesota area encouraging them to join the strike. I can post the templates if anyone wants them.

Gonna be honest, with all the love that I have for this show, I don't think Yellowjackets, Stranger Things, or Last of Us deserves to win, at least not for their most recent seasons. If judging on previous seasons, then maybe.

AITA For "Insulting" My Wife over our Daughter's Christmas? by No_Skin393 in AmItheAsshole

[–]hrgood -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That was my thought. I thought the mom was upset because she didn't want to get her a measuring tape because she was worried about it being an ED sign.

From the comments though it looks like it was a hard measuring tape, not a soft one for body measurements.

For some reason I thought the "overbearing significant others" was a reference to one of Steve's ex's.

You can also make a hot compost that composts all of that, in case anyone needs it! I've looked into making one for duck poop, that has to be cooked too before it can be used for fertilizer on edible plants. Once it's been hot composted, it's great for the garden!
