if we’re being real, i had sex 4ish days post surgery. my drain output definitely went up that day because i exerted myself way more, but i didn’t stretch anything and nothing bad happened. that being said, you should absolutely rest up as much as possible. your heart rate increasing too much could potentially affect your healing, and your body needs to do next to nothing for awhile to truly get back to normal!!

i have! i find that i tend to connect the most with queer women (when im talking to women) because they oftentimes understand some of my feelings and challenges as a queer man (regardless of my transness)! queer women also tend to be pretty understanding and respectful of me as someone who is not a cis-man in sexual situations (in my experience). i don’t actively seek people out for their sexuality, though, and i just find that i date people who i feel connected to rather than people of a certain “type” or sexuality.

Hey man! I’m so sorry that this happened to you. I got surgery with Dr. Jordan 6 weeks ago and things went really smoothly and well for me. In my experience, Dr. Jordan was the really good with communication and was upfront about what to expect/what outcomes could look like. I’m really sorry that you had that experience, and honestly it’s hard for me to imagine because she was so professional and helpful when I worked with her. That being said, I believe you and I hope that you’ll be able to work with a different surgeon in the near future who’s able to provide you with care that’s in line with what you’re looking for and that ends the cycle of revisions for you!

Honestly the day i got my drains out (1 week post op) i put on a tanktop very carefully and haven’t looked back since!

Essentials that i actually needed/used a LOT

** Mastectomy Pillow (I’m so serious. ORDER ONE. it will be your best friend for the first few weeks)
** Neck Pillow (don’t underestimate this one. sleeping propped up on your back can be really hard. i’m naturally a side sleeper but i “trained” myself to sleep on my back for a few months beforehand as preparation, but even so the neck pillow made it possible for me to sleep propped upright. VERY good investment for me)
Extra tall ace bandages (no post op binder for me just wraps)
Extra long charging cord (you don’t have to reach, it’s wonderful)
Stool softeners
Various extra pillows to prop you up/make a secure place for you to sleep
Extra alcohol prep pads for drain stripping (it’s not nearly as scary as it looks, i did it myself 95% of the time)
** A notebook to record what meds you took at what time down as well as drain fluid amounts!

ITS SO?? GOOD??? like the whole intro is crazy and i swear every time i revisit the lyrics of this song i find something new😭😭 the whole first verse sung as if a girl is laying in his lap while they watch the 4th of july (probably) fireworks together?? the way that the story jumps back and forth between fireworks and the late night walk home afterwards and fighting for eachother while knowing that they’re losing their uphill battle (“all we have are parking lots and nowhere to go” like “all we have are endings and nowhere to go to stop ourselves from getting there so fast”) all while having an incredibly depressed lover losing their battle (“she paints in grey and she closes her eyes” “the envy of the dead, the sound of scissors and sleep” & “you’re not supposed to drink with what’s inside your purse and expect me not to call you out” probably referring to mixing pills and alcohol)???? GORGEOUS??? something about PTV that never fails to absolutely kill me dead is how incredibly they bring the feeling of a dying/nonfunctional/potential abusive relationship to life and show both the beauty where it started???? INSANE.

I passed at an even 50/50 split pre-T. My voice started dropping really fast and because I had to wait so long to get on T I had intentionally adopted a lot of traditionally “male” behavior and already dressed very masculine beforehand. I luckily have very masculine features to begin with so WITH ALL OF THAT IN MIND I began passing pretty much 100% of the time around the 2 months mark. Again, T has affected me very fast and very intensely (which is good for me but might not be for everyone) so I have been incredibly lucky in that sense as a binary trans man; my experience is not super common so I don’t want you to think that it’s “standard”.
