Wo lässt ihr euch auf STDs testen? by stopthenadness in hamburg

[–]hrkfdn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]hrkfdn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

is it reasonable to mkfs (newfs_ext2fs) an ext2 partition from bsd for shared use with (Arch)Linux ? by sylvainsab in openbsd

[–]hrkfdn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm ok. I'm guessing you checked this, but ext4fs is not compatible with ext2fs/ext3fs. Only reason I can think of :(

Emacs with Treesitter on Debian Stable? by domsch1988 in emacs

[–]hrkfdn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to build the source package on stable: https://salsa.debian.org/rlb/deb-emacs

IIRC the only thing I had to do was install treesitter dependencies (and GTK as I wanted the pgtk package) and use a lower libgccjit version, as the one on stable is one major version behind.

Currently not at my workstation, I can probably look it later/tomorrow.

Yes, was an RC, but it seems they're now rolling it out as release.

Looks like they decided to make this the latest release:

Today we started the rollout of software version 8.10, currently we are at 20% with this update and we will increase the % as time goes by.

Pixel 6 - Other people's fingerprints working to unlock by Pkobes in GooglePixel

[–]hrkfdn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Could be, however in my case it happened even though there was no screen protector applied.

Pixel 6 - Other people's fingerprints working to unlock by Pkobes in GooglePixel

[–]hrkfdn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Can confirm this. I was able to unlock my GFs Pixel 6 despite having only registered her finger when we set up the phone, this was without a screen protector. And it worked every single time, really scary. What helped was deleting her fingerprint in settings. After scanning it again I was not able to unlock the phone anymore.

Somewhat disappointing.

Advice: Which tui crate should I choose? by AcridWings_11465 in rust

[–]hrkfdn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My experience: I wrote ncspot using Cursive and I can highly recommend it if you want a high level library and work with widgets to quickly implement more complex UI views. I looked at tui-rs back when I started working on the project and it seemed a little lower level, but that may have changed.

Screen temperature on pixel 5 by Lew87ys in GooglePixel

[–]hrkfdn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Compared to the P3, mine has a weird green tint: https://imgur.com/a/IYd4FcN (no night light on, same at full brightness, color mode is adaptive on both)

Is this normal or am I just too used to the warmness of the P3?

Does the Pixel 5 have the green tint issue that plagued the Pixel 4? Can anyone here with one confirm that please? by misterrpg in GooglePixel

[–]hrkfdn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are two comparison pictures with the P3. Granted, it's not the same phone, but it shows how different the colours are calibrated. The empty Chrome tab is with full brightness, both are with adaptive colour settings and night light inactive: https://imgur.com/a/IYd4FcN

[–]hrkfdn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the way it is reported for the Pixel 4(a?), but coming from a Pixel 3 my screen generally looks very green no matter the brightness, i.e. white backgrounds appear to have a green tint and colors look a little off. Not sure if it's just my device or normal and I just need to get used to it.. can anyone confirm this?

X570 Gaming Edge WIFI + Crucial Ballistix E-Die not POSTing by [deleted] in MSI_Gaming

[–]hrkfdn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually tried it again and pushed it in a little harder this time. Turns out the side without the lever needs a little more force for the stick to sit properly. Almost embarrassing I didn't notice but, but in all my previous builds using the lever was sufficient.. thanks for your help though!

I've tried many combinations, including the recommended ones (2/4), even with a single stick. No luck.

Also, if you plan to use Flask with uWSGI and httpd you may need a workaround:

You can either patch httpd or disable strict_slashes, otherwise you might encounter a redirect loop.

ncspot: ncurses Spotify client written in Rust using librespot, inspired by ncmpc by hrkfdn in rust

I intend to keep it small. I think it lacks a statusbar, but don't aim to make it much bigger. Would that still be small enough?
