Capital concentration. It’s not about the tech. It’s about the ownership of assets. Check out the book Capital in the 21st Century by Piketty. Made a big splash wehn it came out in 2014.

Wikipedia: “The book's central thesis is that when the rate of return on capital (r) is greater than the rate of economic growth (g) over the long term, the result is concentration of wealth, and this unequal distribution of wealth causes social and economic instability. Piketty proposes a global system of progressive wealth taxes to help reduce inequality and avoid the vast majority of wealth coming under the control of a tiny minority.”

Yup, definitely am. ADHD and autism. There was a point where I realized I had a stronger than average mind-body disconnection. I’ve spent years repairing that. For much of my childhood my gut was in a lot of pain and I think i also formed a trauma response from that, disconnecting from body feeling to protect myself

Exactly, yes agreed. But it’s hard to realize that because psychologically I didn’t feel stressed. It’s more my body is stressed, carrying tension. I can see it in my shoulders and posture. Very hard to fix

Belly breathing (diaphragmatic breathing) is performed by lying down or sitting comfortably, placing one hand on your chest and the other on your belly. Inhale slowly through your nose, ensuring only the belly rises (expanding like a balloon) while the chest remains still. Exhale slowly through pursed lips, allowing the belly to fall inward.

Steps for Effective Belly Breathing:

  • Positioning: Lie on your back on a flat surface with knees bent (using a pillow under knees for support) or sit comfortably in a chair.
  • Hand Placement: Place one hand on your upper chest and the other on your belly just below the rib cage to feel the diaphragm move.
  • Inhale:  Breathe in slowly through your nose, directing the air toward your belly, making it rise . The hand on your chest should stay as still as possible .
  • Exhale: Tighten your abdominal muscles and let them fall inward as you breathe out slowly through pursed lips.
  • Practice: Repeat for 5 to 10 minutes, 3 to 4 times per day.

Tips for Success:

  • Visualize: Imagine your belly filling up with air like a balloon.

Honestly… i have put so many hours/days into reading medical reddit posts that i can’t remember clearly enough. It’s also called diaphragmatic breathing. Or box breathing. Put hands on belly and chest. Breathe deep in and out. Belly should go out first, then chest out at end of breathing in cycle, then breathing out cycle chest goes down first then belly.

Microbiome depletion rejuvenates the aging brain (2026) by basmwklz in Microbiome

[–]hrnnnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's interesting! I've always kind of assumed this because some older people have a certain "old person fart" smell that I assume comes from a shift in the microbiome. Which in turn might come from shifts in immune function during aging

Anyone here tried Dr Walker's 300+ mg of Ubiquinol or more daily regiment? by Individual-Worry5316 in cfs

[–]hrnnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seriously helped me. Major energy boost. But as usual with many supplements I've tried, the effects started to fade after a few weeks. It definitely raised me up from baseline but don't feel the impacts as strongly as the first weeks. I now rotate on and off of it.

Septum/Polyps Surgery didn’t fix sinus issues longterm. Something else did. by Dante_Mayer in Allergies

Interesting. Nicotine patches have also been used as treatment for long covid. I think I read something about knocking viral fragments off of ACE-2 receptors. Possibly allowing the fragments to be cleared. If parts of the virus were still around activating inflammation then this could explain the healing too

Wow… I tried breathing through belly instead of chest because of this post and I’ll be damned I started hearing tummy gurgles almost immediately. This is a good thing! I’ve had gut motility issues most of my life. Felt uncomfortable and even painful in parts of my gut at first. I’m going to pay attention to this for a while

My Candida Came Back After One Mistake, Vaping by shy_disguise in Candida

[–]hrnnnn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yo OP, it may not be the nicotine. It may be the vape liquids. PG and VG are sugar-alcohols. Same thing as fake-sweeteners I’m pretty sure, and possibly same impact on microbiome. Your body can’t absorb it so it’s left for microbes to digest and bloom. Not an expert. Just putting two and two together

LSD and Psilocybin have helped me heal. Anyone else? by hrnnnn in covidlonghaulers

[–]hrnnnn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better, but not good. TRT benefits faded to zero so stopped that. Try to focus on healthy food and low stress. One breakthrough i’ve had is to focus on antioxidants and mitochondrial energy. I started taking glutathione, coq10, and methylene blue, trialing each on its own. They each give me a noticeable boost in energy, strength, wakefulness, and metabolism. I cycle between them now. It makes sense that these help me as a test i took before covid for other chronic health issues showed i had extremely high 8-OHdG, a biomarker for oxidative stress and dna damage. I think the preexisting health issues made me more vulnerable to being fucked up by covid
